Ned Middleton has surpassed himself with this book, I have no doubt that this book will become the red sea dive guides bible and the most authoritive source on some of the best wrecks out there.

I took this book with me on the dive boat as I dived some of these wrecks, I really wish I had taken a few copies with me as absolutely everyone, especially the dive guides wanted to buy it of me.

All the wrecks are thoroughly researched and written up, with beautiful pictures and absolutely stunning artwork by Rico.

I have had the pleasure of Talking to Ned and can honestly say he is a lovely chap to know, and I await eagerly his next book.

One of the most terrifying, depressing journeys into the heart of darkness. That there are human beings on earth that still behave like some of the congolese in this book is frankly ming-boggling. Very relevant in light of the current unstable situation in this part of the world. O'Hanlan is a brilliant writer and a noble man, but this book is not the one to start a stampede of mass tourism to central africa!!

An even better work than 'Bad Wisdom'. Drummond and Manning's contrasting writing styles compliment each other perfectly, with the former's sulky, spare, thoughtful and engaging and acting as a necessary ballast to Manning's powerful, electric and depraved fantasies.

Both are brilliant for very different reasons. As with Bad Wisdom, Manning's constant desire to shock does get a touch tedious and predictable towards the end, whilst Drummond suffers from a lack of confidence (he confesses that he thinks his account of their trip to Europe probably needed editing down - but I thought it was amongst his best stuff). But those are quibbles. This is another astonishing book.

This book is exceptionally useful. It's great for those who are just passing through or those settling in Ethiopia for longer periods. Those who think they can wing it in Ethiopia with one of the European languages are wrong! It is one of the very few countries in Africa that has never been colonised (except for a brief period of occupation by the Italians during the war). A few people are okay speaking English, but outside Addis that's mainly kids (who learn it at school) - take the book, it really is worth it!

This book is littlecmore than a spinoff of previous books by these authors.The text which could have been interesting is virtually unreadable as red type onblack paper is nearly invisable as is microscopic point size type. With reguard tothe pictures most are satisfactory but to many are marginally or fully out of focus are repeats from otherbooks while the arty crafty ones do the book no credit This book can not be recommended.

We've just come back from honeymoon and used this book when we visited Cairo and particularly the incredible museum... the descriptions are spot on and the book guides you thru' room by room. Our tour guide was saying practically the same things as the book, so its all you need!

Dress codes for women in Cairo aren't as strict as the book makes it out to be, there were loads of girls with string tops and shorts, so long skirts and long sleeved shirts aren't necessarily a must!! Other than that, pretty accurate about local customs and traditions.
