It's my first Nigella's book and it's truly wonderful. Easy to make and follow recipes and beautiful pictures. Not to mention her enchanting writing style.
So far I have tried couple of recipes and they all have turned out great.
One thing which I'd complain about a little, Nigella doesn't really season her meat but adding salt and pepper is my contribution to the recipes :).
This is the book when you want to fix something yummie for dinner but you're running out of time.

. The Forgotten Garden

I must admit that I was attracted to this book as it mentioned Richard and Judy's Bookclub. Not that I read all they recommend but they are usually worth a look. Then I found out that it was the author's previous book that was referred to "The House at Riverton" so I read that first.
It was good, but for me this one is better. It is set in Australia and Cornwall in the past and present. It starts with a puzzle and a rather heart rending one at that. A four year old girl is left on a steamer heading to Australia in 1912, apparently abandoned and unnoticed by the authorities. Who would do such a thing, and why?
There follows a well written multi layered story that untangles the complexities of the girls life. We see ... Read More:

. The Secret
City Travel Guides > Books > Age (feature two browse-bin)
by: Rhonda Byrne
December 04, 2006
As much as former England football team manager Glenn Hoddle's downfall came when he blamed disability on bad karma from actions in the past life, the success of this book is pivotal on the same point? On the basis of the success of this book, was Tony Blair wrong to vehemently criticise Hoddle.
Now this didn't bother me at first but the more I thought about it the more I found it hard to palette when the book talks about everything that has happened to you, you have attracted with your thoughts, including the bad things. There is nothing wrong in wanting to manifest a better life, but the elements within the book are basic.
There are some rudimentary errors within the book, metaphors are incorrectly used and the author's claims ... Read More:

. Homicide:
City Travel Guides > Books > Age (feature two browse-bin)
by: David Simon
September 04, 2008
How do you fill the void left after watching the final episode of one of the greatest tv shows of all time ? Go back to the source and that's what this is without this book there is no The Wire. It's a remarkable book and one that hasn't really dated unlike the TV series of the same name.
The premise is well described David Simon writes about a year in the life of the homicide department of Baltimore what suprised me was that it isn't written for the journalist point of view so instead we get informed what the detectives are thinking. It's hard to explain that for the veteran detectives we see that there is no personal crusade to solve the crimes it's a job and not a highly paid one so if it's not the money what compels these individuals to keep going especially ... . Eclipse (Twilight Saga)
City Travel Guides > Books > Age (feature two browse-bin)
by: Stephenie Meyer
July 03, 2008
Unlike the other reviewers, I thought that Eclipse was the best in the series so far. (It is the third in a set of four). The love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob was so sad and frustrating because we all know that she made the foolish choice in the end but the chemistry between her and her "choice" was so electric, you cant condemn her for it.
What woud you choose? A vampire or a werewolf? hmmmmm difficult choice....
I thoroughly enjoyed the action in this book and found every page an enthralling read. The emotional scenes between Bella and Edward left me with a spine tingling sensation but the one between Bella and Jacob just made me sad.
The characters were really good, the plot was excellant but I would agree with the ... Read More:

. The Book Thief

by: Markus Zusak

I almost gave up on this book, I struggled with it for a while. Once I had got into it I could'nt put it down! It was totally different, narrated by Death, who at times could be a real softie. Liesel goes to live with foster parents, the Hubermanns during WW2,she makes friends with Rudy, she loves and steals books, and the Hubermanns take in a jew called Max, who they hide in the basement. They all seem to live on pea soup, and little else. Very moving at times, I am so glad I stuck with it, I loved it, and would highly recommend it.
