My children thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is also ideal for slightly older children with reading difficulties as the story is fun, using simple sentence structure, whilst the vocabulary remains suitable for 9 to 12 year olds.

The "Anne of Green Gables" series are one of my all time favourites, and this second book in the series (first published in 1909) is every bit as wonderful as the first (1908). Beautifully written and a really good read for ages 8 to adult.

In Anne of Avonlea we catch up with Anne (aged 16 and half, although I thought that she had ended up 17 at the end of Anne of Green Gables - minor glitch!) as she returns to her old school in Avonlea as the school teacher. It's DIARY OF A WIMPY KID #2, and I can't wait to read #3. These books are fantastic. The tales and adventures of Greg Heffley and his creative illustrations are well worth your time.

Greg begins his second diary. He almost decided it wasn't worth it after Rodrick got his hands on the first diary, but once again he writes about his frustrations with his older brother, Rodrick, and his younger brother, Manny. Greg reveals all the embarrassing encounters involving his mother's determination to butt into his life. He also includes tales of his bumpy relationship with his best friend, Rowley.

I was given the Olga Da Polga books when I was a little girl because I was and still am crazy about guineapigs (I currently have 8 of them!). I really loved the stories told from the guineapigs perspective, I found them truly entertaining. I still enjoy reading them now and have my originals which I read to my own children. I see that since I was a girl there have been additions to the series and I am going to buy them!

Bought this for my son, as the Tra-la-laa Terrific Captain Underpants Collection was a real hit! My son, who is 7, finds this hilarious and has moved on to this from Horrid Henry. This collection has four books in it: Captain Underpants and the Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Woman, Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad battle of the bionic booger boy parts 1 and 2 and The adventures of Super Diaper Baby. American, but a lot of fun!

I found this book to be a very interesting read for everybody regardless of religion. Ina time where materialism and greed has eclipsed the need for human values;it is essential that books like these inculcate our children with the use of simple language and graphics. A very good concept in that a story can be read per day every year. However, this book has such a repat value that you will want to read it once the kids go to sleep.
