My son needed something more than his picture dictionary, but not so large he lost interest in looking a word up - and this is perfect.

The only down side is the size (A5) and being a hardback, it is a little heavy for carrying around on a daily basis.

Hi,

I'm only about 16 - 6 years old and I can draw horse very well for my age. This book a good although i havn't got it, it looks pretty cool. i find that the legs are probably the hardest part, I'd say the head is easy! I paint horses in watercolours and I'm going into the glasgow school of art when I'm older. Maybe I'll take that book with me, it is sooo good. RAY RULES @ MY STABLES

We love the Klutz books and kits (we being myself aged 35 and my 10 year old daughter). Once again they have come up with a simple but entertaining package for young and old alike, to create with.
In this set you get a booklet with a step by step example of 'how to do' on a page and space to one side for you to have a go yourself. Also included are a black felt pen and an inkpad. You create animals using your thumb or finger prints and the felt pen. These kits are great for on car/plane or train journeys and are compact for you to take along almost anywhere. Keep one in your handbag and you'll never be short of something to entertain kids with.

Having read somewhere that the inspiration for Stieg Larsson 'Lisbeth Salander' was Pippi Longstocking, and as I adored the trilogy 'Millenium', after I finished it I went on to re-read Pippi Longstocking and was utterly taken by how enjoyable these stories are even as a full over grown-up adult ! Pippi is so endearing you just want to meet her and spend a fun day at Villekulla cottage with her, mr Nelson and the horse. Lindgren simply had a stroke of genius when creating Pippi, as very few characters come so alive, so pure delight in their unpredictibility, and among all the fun to be had yet Pippi also manages to be very touching by sheer kindness and warmth at all times. Based on customer's positive reviews, I bought Journey to the Riversea for a 12 year old girl. Making the unusual decision to read the book first, has turned out to be a compelling, riveting read. I thoroughly enjoyed and agonised, wondering what was going to happen next. I'm now an Eva Ibbotson fan. This superbly written adventure story, with its unexpected twists and turns, happily kept me awake for most a night. An avid reader since childhood, I loved this story and the characters, the exception being the ghastly Carter twins and their parents. I'm not only satisfied the 12 year old will be as thrilled as I am with the book, I now have The Dragonfly Pool. This is the first review I have ever written but this book is so fantastic I felt I wanted to share my thoughts with everyone. This easy to read, fun book has really changed my 8 year old sons outlook on his constant anxieties, and indeed changed his life. The author really understands what is in a worriers head and body. As my son kept saying -'this lady is a mind reader' 'how is it that she knows exactly how I feel?' The authors ability to relate to anxious children gives them the confidence to believe in the solutions she suggests. I am just about to buy my second copy to give to the school and just about to search for other books she has written. Thank you from Daniel in South Africa.
