. Cat's Cradle: A Book of String Figures (Klutz)

A well produced flip over card book, complete with its own loop of colourful knot free string. The explanations are easy to understand, no steps have been assumed. The illustrations are clear and thoughtfully drawn, supporting the text admirably. A helpful aspect in the design is that the piece of string that is to be moved next, is coloured red on the illustration. Being an American book , it has lost none of its meaning in a translation. The book has two sections. One for individual use where there are 4 figures to make and a second section for two people showing how to create the 5 repeating shapes. It is a good introductory book. Competent Cat's Cradle enthusiasts may need something more.
