Quite simply, the reason is that I have the previous edition and normally would not dream of updating with the previous version only just over a year old. However, when I saw in the foreword that there were around 50 additions in the latest, I couldn't resist (particularly given the current good offer on Amazon!). The main reason I couldn't resist is that a couple of months ago I stayed in the best hotel (note, not the one with the most stars) I have ever stayed in in this country. I'm not going to give away where it was but it lived up to all of the Sawday's promises 'nothing dull', 'delightful people' and so on. It was wonderful. The latest edition is already ... The book is well served by maps at the front which give numbered references to the special places along your route, and this allows for some ...
