. The Aquitaine Progression
Search: Aquitaine
by: Robert Ludlum
March 18, 2004
This is an ancient book (1980's) still going strong. Why some authors keep on being reprinted is not always easily understood, but in Ludlum's case, this is fairly straightforward.
When Joel Converse meets up with his old friend/aquaintance, Avery Fowler (now known as Preston Halliday), his life is turned upside down. He is recruited into the battle against something known as Aquitaine when Pres/Avery dies in his arms.
From that murder on, his life is in great danger as he seeks to discover the identity of the people behind Aquitaine along with trying to destroy their attempt to take over the world. Joel soon finds himself pretty much alone in this fight, being hounded by police in many countries along with the people ... Read More:

. Eleanor: Crown Jewel of Aquitaine (Royal Diaries)
Search: Aquitaine
by: Kristiana Gregory
2002-11
My 9 year old daughter was very excited about this book series, but as a parent, I have been disappointed in the four books that I have read. Eleanor is no exception. This book contains several scenes which are disgusting -- a child who vomits up a ball of writhing worms, another child who has a worm come out of its eye (Eleanor calls for the doctor then watches as this worm fully emerges, as long as Eleanor's arm), a kitten falls down a privy chute and drowns, and Eleanor's sister writes a poem about this kitten's experience in her diary (mercifuly, the poem is not included in this book). While no doubt things like this happened in this time period, I felt these scenes did not add in any way to this book. When my daughter read the worms scene, ... Read More:

. The Courts of Love: The Story of Eleanor of Aquitaine (The Queens of England: Volume 5)
Search: Aquitaine
by: Jean Plaidy
January 12, 1989
In this, the fifth volume in her Queens of England series of novels, the author, also known as Victoria Holt to her legion of fans, tackles the story of Eleanor of Aquitaine, a woman who led an incomparable life. Born in an age when women tended to be submissive and docile, Eleanor was anything but. She was an outspoken, well-educated, independent, and beautiful woman. Hers is a story that, in the hands this author, an accomplished storyteller, captivates the reader. Eleanor, Duchess of Aquitaine, became Queen of France when she entered into a marriage of state with Louis VII of France, a somewhat weak and ineffectual, though pious, young ruler. Theirs was not a passionate affair of the heart but, rather, a misalliance that would come to ... Read More:

. Aquitaine Guide Vert (Michelin Green Guides)
Search: Aquitaine
from: Michelin
2006-04
It seems the Michelin Green Guide to Aquitaine is not (yet?) available in English. This version - "Le Guide Vert" - is in French.
I was expecting it to be in English. This is not too much of problem, but it does seem that no other Michelin Guide to the area has been published in English since the 2001 "Michelin Green Guide Atlantic Coast: Poitou, Aquitaine, the Basque Country" which is still selling for around £30.
Please correct me if what I've written is incorrect.
