This audiobook consists of two CDs. The first is the author talking about meditation, and this CD is wonderful to listen to. He has a really nice voice to listen to and talks as if he is just talking to you alone. He makes if feel as if Meditation is available to everyone, and anyone can do this, which is true, but so helpful to a beginner to be reassured that it is within their reach. The second CD is a set of progressive meditations, quite short, but each one taking you a stage further on. What a little gem this is. I can't believe this passed me by (well it was on the radio so that's probably why). This is probably better than anything I have seen on TV for the last couple of years. I must admit that I haven't seen the HBO TV series and I'm not sure if I really want to because this is so good that I don't want to be disappointed.

For those of you who don't know, Flight of the Conchords are a real band, they even have an album out on the sub pop label. Though this radio series is a fictitious account of their attempt to break into the UK scene. I introduced my seven year old Grandson to Enid Blyton and he can't get enough of her books. He is a Californian who is now living in France so has no knowledge of England at any time. He doesn't care he loves the stories. They are not old fashioned to him they are just good tales. With CD's he can listen at any time instead of having to wait for bedtime for us to read to him.

I have tried hypnosis CDs previously (Paul McKenna) without results or significant effects so when i stumbled accross Glenn Harrolds CD i thought id have one last go with a different hypnotherapist.
The results have been better than i could have wished, i lost 6 pounds in around 10 days and have kept the weight off too!
My weight is going down slowly and steadily and i think about food in a totally different way now.
I would recommend listening to any of Harrolds CDs once a week so as to keep your mind focused on your goals, it works better this way.

On the whole, the author has done a very good job of bringing together the plotlines from the previous books in the series. The ending is a little contrived, but that was to be expected. There are plenty of contrived sections and sub-plots in the previous books from the series - this is, after all, a fantasy for older children (adult readers often forget that), and it requires some leaps of faith to allow it to move on. It's not supposed to have a solid logical foundation.

I can't understand the moans about the middle "camping" section, nor suggestions that the book is too dark or gruesome, certainly not for today's average teenager. The whole book engrossed me all the way through. A great page-turner. Rowling is an excellent writer and her plots ... Read More:

I wanted to provide a review as a counter-balance to the other, more positive reviews.
I am currently reading 'Full Catastrophe Living' and purchased the CD to help me practice meditation. To be honest, I wish I'd stuck to just the book! Jon seems like a lovely, compassionate man but I find him incredibly annoying!
I tried the 'eating meditation' first and could not stop myself from giggling everytime he said the word 'raisin'! I love the New York accent but, unfortunately, I do not find it relaxing. His constant repetition, particularly of the words 'moment...by moment...by moment...by moment...by moment' (you get the picture!) is irritating beyond belief. A lot of the time I just wsished he'd shut up and leave me to it! I suspect Jon likes the sound of his own voice ... Read More:

My kids, husband & I adore this book and never tire of it. We all know it off by heart and each of us has a favourite type of pants in the book. We have bought many copies to give as gifts and would thoroughly recommend to all. Caution - it is not the sort of book to read at bedtime when trying to settle your children down quietly as you cant help but shout and laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're now off to buy "More Pants"!!!!!!

"A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini is a book that the author researched while visiting Kabul. It is a story of friendship between two very dissimilar women who were ages apart in background and in education. They became close in order to survive and to endure the environment that they were forced to live in. The reader grows to understand that there existed between them a closeness like that of a mother and daughter. This intimacy was built upon much mutual respect and much love which these two (2) stunning characters generated for each other. The novel is really the story of the lives of Laila and Mariam.
