To be honest, I don't think this book needs another review, as much of what makes this title great has already been expressed on here. Work is quiet, however, and so it is too hard not to say something about a book I so thoroughly enjoyed.

As many people have said, Brown's writing style is very entertaining, lines such as "read on you clever sausage, you," give it the light-hearted tone that makes it such an easy read. Obviously, any one who picks up this book will be doing so because they are curious about Brown's techniques, and I really felt that the content did not disappoint in the slightest. I ordered this book on the strength of the earlier reviews saying how good it was. I personally found the book very simplistic and unhelpful. All it seems to say is 'Just go out and do whatever worries you' and also had a very unhelpful message to people who may have low self esteem that if things worry you then basically thats your fault. If your job worries you change it, if your partner worries you... well change them... hey if your house worries you, change it... life is not as easy as that. Lets change everything shall we? A very unrealistic book....

It is difficult to review this book without giving out the plot details, and half the fun (an incongruous word given the plot matter) is in slowly discovering the context of the story, the plot setting and the truth about the characters in the background

The book starts off looking like a growing-up story of a nine-year old, before the mood gets darker as the plot is revealed. The author's light touch and his success in showing the mindset of an ordinary cheerful kid creates a disturbing effect on the reader - the story gets progressively darker while the main character remains oblivious to the reality of the events around him.

I really liked several things about this book, not least that Tim Ferris didn't make it all sound easy, but rather, showed us why it is important to find a way to be financially free. Driven, successful people often find it hard to just lie on a beach, and how would you just take off on your own if you have always had people around you.....it sort of put me off a bit - which could have been sabotaging my long term success! I've always struggled with the idea of what to do when I no longer have to stay in the UK, when the kids are grown up, but can travel the world drawing a passive income from my business.....well, thanks to Tim, now I know what I'm going to do, I'm going to have "purposeful holidays". I doubt I would have been so offended by this book had it not been for the pretentious fawings of so many people who claimed it had changed their life. I was intrigued. I was then very disappointed. What a load of new age drivel. Change my life my foot. This book is pretentious and seems to have been lifted from an array of other superior novels and fables. I felt cheated by the rave reviews and am still somewhat dumbfounded by it.
