Bought this item after enjoying Polish in a Day, thought it would make my visit to Poland easier. Would have liked a bit more about using a car in Poland as we drove around. I found the music between each section really irritating after the first few times of going back over a section. Would have prefered another way to distinguish each section.

My Polish friend thought my accent was good and was very impressed.

i would like to do some written Polish to help with reading menu's signs etc.

I have been studying Classical Greek for eight months and have been alternating between Peter Jones's book and that of John Taylor, both available on Amazon.

However I have also found this volume to be an extremely valuable tool for a number of reasons. Firstly the text is packed with apt tests and practices throughout for which the answers are provided. As I am not in a class nor have a teacher I find that this is extremely useful aid.

Also as I have a Roman Catholic upbringing the biblical phrases given as grammatical examples have the added effect of driving home the point.

I found this revision guide extremely helpful in helping me prepare for my French AS exam. Everything is there, in one place. What i found the most helpful was the vocabulary lists in each topic, especially for the one i chose to write my essay on. Invaluable as a study guide, especially if you have to teach yourself a lot of the course. Out of all the revision guides, this one is definitly the best, and well worth the money. I recommend it to anyone who is doing French whether hoping to achieve a D or an A grade.

used in conjunction with some other aids (a dictionary is needed, other materials may be beneficial) this book is fantastic for people fairly new to learning norwegian, as i am.

the biggest advantage is the ability to expand on your current (and soon to be) vocabulary using grammatical rules. For instance if you know the word sleep, you can develop sleeps, sleeping and sleepy without the need of learning the variations as new words. This opens up a new confidence in your speaking and you become much more fluid.

The gramatical concepts are divided into easy to understand sections and so are able to be practiced as you go along. Before finishing the book I was writing poetry in Norwegian to hone my skills and it proved very enjoyable. ... Read More:

I have two copies of this book which I use all the time. I was given the first as a present and then bought myself another copy so that I could keep the other at work. I have used it continuously and have always been able to find what I am looking for in it.The indexing system allows you to find the information you need quickly. It is not always easy to understand at first glance but with a little perseverance you can get there in the end. Highly recommended.

Although the book is well priced, and does contain 1,001 common everyday Spanish words, its hard to find anything more substantial to recommend this book with. Only having the words in Spanish leaves the beginner nowhere when trying to use the language, and the example sentences are pretty pointless, since the reader is most likely to be looking the word up to find out what it means in a given context, not put it in a different one. For the small amount of money saved, this book isn't worth the purchase over a decent pocket dictionary, which will contain far more words (and in many cases, some examples) and work both ways.

Being a beginner in Italian I have bought other books which are difficult to get in to. However this book is excellent and the cassettes which accompany them are fantastic. They give you the chance to repeat what is said in dialogues and are very good.
