A brilliant book! Highly recommended! You'll laugh, you'll cry and you will absolutely identify with the main character, Emma, on her journey in this book. One of my all time favourites, couldn't put it down!

Philippa Gregory weaves a very different tale with a completely fictional narrator, young Hannah Green. As other reviews have noted, Hannah and her father flee the Spanish Inquisition, and start a new life in London, where she is discovered as having the gift of "Sight" by none other than Robert Dudley, who presses her first into service for the young King, thus beginning of a life of courtly intrigue.

As always, Gregory writes compellingly and interestingly, and I kept turning the pages because I wanted to know how it would all turn out. I give this book four stars instead of five due to its abrupt ending and due to Hannah's ever-changing loyalties and attitudes. Crime and Punishment beautifully captures moods and moments to guide the reader through the book as though we were truly looking through Roskolnikov's eyes. Dostoyevsky understands the danger that lurks in all of us, and the mind's ability to twist and justify actions and thoughts with the greatest of ease if we are thrown off the righteous path. This is reflected beautifully in the most extreme of scenarios that Roskolnikov finds himself in. It would be a challenge to pick this book up and not finish reading it.

Catch 22 is the best book I've ever read. This may seem to be a trite statement but of all the brilliant books I've come across, this one always rises to the top. It's humour is clever, persistent and cruel in places but that's life and you have to look on the funny side. It's absurdity is something you can relate to and the characters are wonderfully 3D. It's not a war book, though this is all it's about, instead it's a book which gives you hope because the anti hero triumphs. I love the journey through the time slot where every chapter is seen through another character in the story's eyes. So even people you despise at least you understand and can put them in context. I persisted with this book far longer than I should have - I could have been reading something worthwhile. Ploughed through to the half way point, expecting that something interesting must happen soon (no), not at all interested in what happened to any of the dull and one dimensional characters. I eventually skipped to the end to see what happened, which was what I was expecting. Saved myself a few hours and can now move onto something I might actually enjoy. Disappointing.

I really enjoyed this book it was a real page turner, I could not wait to finish it but now I have I can not wait for her next book to come out. It was so easy read and had you gripped. This was one of her best book in ages.It was full of smut,a must buy for any Jackie Collins Fans. You will not be disappointed with this book guaranteed.
