I had some American friends visit and I bought this book in preparation. It is a wonderful read and once we began to walk it proved a very useful guide to the city. I learned things about London (I have lived there in on and off for my whole life) that I never realised.

Comprehensive advice for staying in and finding your way round the city with children and more than enough information to help you around the theme park. Even tips for keeping your sense of humour and keeping the kids busy as soon as there are a few drops of inevitable rain. What I really liked was the straightforward approach of the authors.
A very worthwhile buy. It really helped me make the most of my week away with the family. Thanks!

A guide to working and living in Italy is a useful book for many people so this title would be a welcome addition to the many similar guides already on the market - if only it contained some correct information. Reading through the chapters, I was struck by how often the author seems to make up "facts" without bothering to check. Just to take two examples from one of the more general chapters, that on the Italian language
- The author claims that Italian isn't an official language in any other country in the world. The population in neighbouring Switzerland will be surprised to hear it, as Italian definitely IS an official language of the country.
- Even stranger is the author's claim that the North Italian dialects are Celtic!! ... Read More:

this guide is crap. granted, some of the commentary is interesting and amusing but the awful maps (often detailed with only three or four street names) and the inaccurate pricing system (accommodation is classified as "cheap," "inexpensive," "expensive," or "luxury" - usually incorrectly) make it more suitable as a weapon of defence against one of the country's hundreds of faux-guides than as a source of reliable information. look elsewhere. anywhere else.
