And at the end of the book there is a useful addresses's list, so you can find easily where you should go to start doing your first steps! It's very simple to read even for those who are not english-native speakers like me (I'm italian). Another important thing is that it was recently updated. .Don't Waste Your Time in the Canadian Rockies: The Opinionated Hiking Guide (Don't Waste Your Time in the Canadian Rockies: The Opinionated) City Travel Guides > Books > Canada by: Kathy Copeland, Craig Copeland 2004-07 My spouse and I hike regularly in the Alberta Rockies and this is the essential guide. The basic directions and descriptions are very good, and the author's judgements as to whether a hike is worth doing or not are spot on. His listing of early, mid- and late summer hikes is most useful. He does like plenty of height and exposure, though! The one criticism I'd offer is that he is over-optimistic about the time needed for many of the hikes.
