This book covers Bangkok and the Centre and East (Issan) side of Northern Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Yunnan in China.

This is a very good loop for travelers who are going to be doing this circuit around Southeast Asia.

The book is too condensed for my liking though. The book is small and lightweight (about 1/2 size of the Thailand guide book) but with that compromises have had to be made. It therefore seems to be similar in content to the Southeast Asia guidebook for the areas it covers. I would have preferred the book to be the size of the larger guides and covered more detail.

The thing with Dubai is that it is changing all the time. Most people who move to Dubai will purchase this book because it is updated every year, and the Explorer are the only ones to update their book regularly. Why the book is so good is because it covers everything from moving to Dubai, to the coolest restaurants and ents, to property, to construction. It is also recommended by the independant guides to Dubai, including grapeshisha.com which calls it the "must have guide to Dubai". If you are moving to Dubai, you must get this book. It will help you out with all the things you hadn't thought of.

Christopher's latest is a beautiful book to paw over and dip in and out of. The pictures are evocative and inspiring, and the text just takes you there.

Great to keep in your car so that you always have something interesting to deviate off to when your on a journey. The format reminds me of a more lavish version of the old AA or RAC map/guide books that your Dad used to keep in the glove box and I loved to read as a boy.

Just got this as a Christmas present for someone, and looking through, it makes a very interesting read, with lots of unusual and entertaining nuggets of information and facts. The illustrations are good too.

However I was a bit disappointed to find 3 mistakes in the space of as many pages when I looked at my own local area (Suffolk), which could have been corrected by anyone with Google and an extra 30 seconds to check each one... It was Sir Robert Watson-Watt who was instrumental in the development of RADAR at Bawdsey just before WW2 (not Robin), it's the River Deben (not Debden), and Grimston Hall is in Trimley St Martin (not the adjacent parish of Trimley St Mary). Verg good map, if your interrailing, this is much better than the map you get with the ticket, many more stations are listed, although if your just staying in major cities/capitols you can prob make do with the interrail suypplied map.

I loved my stay at Barcelona, I tried to cramm in as much as I can in 3 days so I got 3 travel guides and this was one of them.

It contains 3 important maps: A map of Barcelona, a map of the gothic quarter, and a subway map. These maps are clear and well detailed.

By using the top 10 guides I managed to plan out all the must see places and the best places to eat - I definitely recommend the sagrada famiia. + there are top ten guides for each district so you can find out what is near you.

Out of the guides I have seen, this and the AA one are easily the best.
