I have read many autobiographies but this one i had to skip several pages it was so boring - too much DAD and too much Clarissa and drink. I was not a fan before and certainly am not now. what came across was that her view was the 'right one' and everyone else was wrong she obviously cannot listen or debate a point if it conflicts with her own view point and what a parasite, if she does not have someone to lean on then she cannot function. in a word the book was BORING.

This is the most inspiring book I have read this year, I could not put it down, and I shall be buying many copys for Christmas presents. I have already recommended it to lots of friends. It is increadable what Greg Mortenson has achieved in such a short time, what a wonderful way to promote peace. I did not want the book to end, it was so well written. Just wish there were many more Greg Mortenson's in the world.

So I read it again. As such it's the only book I didn't enjoy first time round (as a sixteen year old) which I have ever reread. Rereading as a thirty year old did not change my opinion.

The book has nothing of interest to say. The inane ramblings and tirades of a cynical and bitter little rich kid do not a good novel make. Holden doesn't appear to learn anything over the course of his journey and all I learnt over the course of 200 nauseating pages was that not all "classics" of literature warrant their place.

This book was excellent, James takes you through the journey of his business and personal life in a very easy to read and informative manner. Full of great tips and hints that can be used in all aspects of life.

The tunes are catchy as the words have been put to well known tunes but they are so short for each letter, which was a bit disappointing. The book is good and my 3 1/2 year old seems to enjoy the tunes. Perhaps 'short and sweet' is best for the little ones? Overall good value for money.

A hard book to put down once started. Paul just proves that an ordinary guy can make his way through the lows & highs in life and regardless of the slandering & heartache he's endured through life he still managed to become successful, strong, funny and caring and also shows chapter by chapter he is still down to earth and not forgotten the true morals in life and thoughout his illness still manages to put others first! Musn't forget that this book was excellently put together by Neil Simpson & look forward to more of both their books.

I'm no expert on cbt or any type of psychology and I'm always slightly wary. CBT, however, was recommended to me by a psychologist to assist me to help my client group - troubled young people. I love the 'for Dummies' series as they are really easy to read but provide you with quite a broad knowledge for a layman. There is a wealth of sound practical advice in this book for everybody and I can't believe how much I'm learning about myself and my incorrect thinking and its effects. This book requires a lot of concentration (although the style of writing is easy) and effort to think the material through and also to complete the exercises but it really is life-changing. Coming from Guernsey, and having family who lived through the Occupation, I thought that this book might give me a different perspective on what life was like after the Occupation had ended, a period that is often overlooked even here on the island. Styled as a series of letters between a London-based author, her friends and a group of Guernsey book aficionados, I was afraid that I might find it hard to engage with any of the characters emotionally as in my experience first-person letters can't convey the same sense of emotion that can be gained by well-worded, third-person prose.
