.Fodor's Turkey City Travel Guides > Books > Fodor by: Fodor Travel Publications May 04, 2007 I bought this guide in advance of a Turkey visit and have just been for a month. I had the chance to see the Lonely Planet, Blue Guide and Rough Guide books whilst there, and would therefore place this particular book firmly in the non-backpacker section of guides. Whilst it offers quite a lot on the history of places, sites, buildings etc. it is no where near as good as the Blue Guide on these. The Fodor's frequently reports information that is totally spurious and for only the most lackadaisical of tourists. It's section on Mt. Nemrud for example is just rubbish where as that of the Blue Guide is really quite interesting, offering not an academics perspective but one that treats its reader with at least a modicum of respect.
