McLachlan 2004-05 I've never used Footprint's guides before and I took this one as an experiment. After one day in Luxor (the only place I visited) I realised it was badly out of date. Ticket prices had in some cases doubled. Restaurant listings bore little resemblance to the places described; one map lacked a scale and another had an entrance misplaced. It was like a bible to me when I travelled round South America. From Colombia to Brazil it guided me safely along and I got to visit a few gems that I would not have know about if I had had the Lonely Planet with me. Also I liked the way it lists if the hostels have hot water or not. I had to lend it to so many people who were using the lonely planet, and the number of times fellow backpackers followed me from the bus because I was the only one with a footprint guide, and therefore a map of the town, well lets just say I lost count. .Andalucia (Footprint Travel Guide) (Footprint Handbooks) City Travel Guides > Books > Footprint by: Andy Symington 2004-05 I bought this book for a recent visit to Granada and to be honest I was a bit disappointed. A word of warning - do not rely on the maps in this book to find your way around. Granada is a mass of cobbled one-way streets and this book's maps were no help - after 3hrs we abandoned the car and found our way on foot after buying a cheap street-map. While the book does give detail of some good tapas bars it omitted to say that the vegetarian restaurant and tapas bar it recommends close at 4.00pm at this time of year.
