. West Coast Australia Handbook (Footprint Handbooks)
City Travel Guides > Books > Footprint
by: Andrew Swaffer, Katrina O'Brien
April 25, 2003
This little book has a lot in it. Whilst the mainly small font size might not make for easy reading by the elderly etc., the book is packed with information. The maps are particularly useful - 140 of them showing tourist areas, town centres etc. They provide more detail than can be found in country-wide atlases etc. The index is very comprehensive - much more so than in later (e.g. the 2002) editions of the handbook - and so the information is easy to find. The book contains just about all the information a visitor is likely to need. Whilst the author often gives what one might regard as very much a "personal view", in my opinion (as a regular visitor to South Africa over many years) he is usually bang on target. Highly recommended.
