This book will disappoint you and leave you very angry. Firstly it is quite evident that most of the people involved with the production of this guide have never been to the island. To say it has been written by the AA it has some of the worst directions I have ever read. The points of interest that are mentioned for each town are good but it is very difficult to find them, and as another reviewer states a street plan would be a very good addition. Some sections of the book are out of date and things are no longer there. Information about any particular place is spread over a number of pages instead of being in one place, due to this there are a large number of contradictions throughout, it makes reading the guide painfull. I wanted to travel Fuerteventura by car and get to small villages and beaches. This well detailed map was always on my passenger seat, I could not do without it.

You can get free maps, but if you don`t wanna take the risk to get terribly lost, or miss awesome spots, you can`t do without it.

Really not worth having. There are much more comprehensive guides and a pocket sized version is no good if not providing adequate detail.

Having been introduced to Noel Rochford's Sunflower Landscapes series of walking books on a trip to Corsica several years ago, we now look out for one of these whenever we go on holiday. This one, on Fuerteventura, lived up to our expectations as a useful, practical, accurate and enetertaining walking companion. We were based in Corralejo, so only sampled the walks in the northern half of the island. These included an enchanting day on the Island of Lobos (not to be missed) walks along the coast from El Cotillo and the Faro de Toston, and a walk up the impressive Caldero Hondo. Walks are all graded, so you can choose ones to suit your energy and fitness levels and the longer walks often have shorter variations.

I just got back from Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Gomera and this is a brilliant guide book - really good info on transport, acommodation and my word the restaurant reccomendations were the best Notably La Cazuela in santa Cruz and El Palmar at Valle Gran Rey on La Gomera ( in my view a much nicer place than the shanty town under construction feel of San Sebastian).Highly reccomended.

Eyewitness travel guides are by far the best. I have used them for New Zealand, Norway, Paris, Mallorca etc. They make Lonely Planet feel like reading a law book. Canary Island is as good as the others. Wherever I come I have noticed that they always point out the best attractions to see (and also show them with pictures). I also checked out the guide for Stockholm where I live, as a benchmark, and as it turned out to be just as accurate, I have decided to stick with these guides. And as the concept of the guides is consistent a buy them online without hesitation. You never even need to buy guides for the attractions you visit since these guides give you maps, drawings facts etc of all the major sites. The only downside is that theese guides never give ...
