I have all of Ina's cook books and find them invaluable. Her recipes are easy to follow, delicious and they all have that little bit more when it comes to flavour and impact. Her chicken pot pie is wonderful as is her summer friut crostata. This is easy food with the volume turned up. A great book to have in any kitchen.

I was struggling what to cook every day for my son (13 months) and husband. Since I got this book my life is much easier. Great inspiration. Suitable for babies, kids and adults. Simple recipes and lots of interesting tips. What a fantastic boook!

I have made lots of the recipes in this book (in fact its one of my most used recipe books)- they are always tasty, and filling, and generally fairly cheap and quick and easy to make. Unlike alot of recipe books, it tends to use mainly ingredients you would have in your cupboard, with means less trips to the shops and less money spent (and you dont end up with a cupboard full of stuff you bought for a recipe and will never use again!)

Its also fairly unsahamed about using tinned stuff or ready made sauces if it makes the recipe quicker of easier, which is a plus, and often pute in alternatives things you can use if you dont have a particular ingredient, or suggests alternative ways of cooking something to make it easier.

I had bought myself a three-tied steamer but was very disappointed with how bland the food was. So I bought this book together with another far more expensive one to see if I could get some ideas. I was very disappointed with the more expensive book but this cheap little recipe book is a gem. Don't be put off by the cheap price. It's packed with all the information you will need for steaming healthy and tasty food.

I've had this book (the older edition) for almost 10 years now and I'm still using it. The recipes always work perfectly, the short little stories over each recipe are fun to read and I've never made any soup from this or the other two books without people asking for second, third and in one case even fourth helpings (and most of the time the soup was supposed to be the starter!). Normally, I make at least double the quantities because of that. Can you say more to show just how yummy the recipes are? This definitely is a book I couln't live without. Everybody should have it!

I was really disappointed by this book, I think it has a huge flaw in it, being that it has no dessert chapter. I'm a complete sugar junkie and the biggest part of being on a diet for me is finding ways to keepy my sweet tooth satisfied without hindering my diet progress.

Also, I have quite a fussy partner and a 3 year old daughter and I find that a lot of these recipes would not be suitable for them and being a busy mum I don't have time to cook seperate meals. I also found that the list of 'free' foods were pretty common sense, nothing processed, fruit and veg, meat and fish etc.

To be perfectly honest I found the slimming world webstite more helpful and considering the price of the book I would check it out at a library or bookstore ... Read More:

This is a wonderful book for all those who are passionate about Venice. Presented with great style, it is certainly up to the standard of Franceso's previous publications. But this is not just a book of traditional recipes and pretty photographs, many pages are devoted to the produce used in Venetian cooking and the history of various ingredients. There are pages describing 18th. century life in the palazzi of Venice and four pages devoted to the humble fork. This is a book that will transport you to the Grand Canal everytime you read it. Oh if only all trattoria and ristorante in Venice had a copy!

I own loads of cookery books and only cook two or three recipes from each. Many of the recipes in these books can appear daunting if you're not an accomplished, brilliant cook. I really enjoy cooking for the family but they aren't really into pheasant in a redcurrant sauce type of meal so I have to keep it a bit simpler. This book is ideal, it gives traditional recipes a new twist and they are bursting with flavour. Family favourites so far are lamb and butterbean casserole, turkey and apricot pie not forgetting sausages and red onions with port. I have only had the book a couple of weeks and there are loads of recipes I am keen to try. This is one book that won't be gathering dust in a cupboard.
