Once month ago I was offered a job in Stockholm and since I love the city and the country I have decided to go. Since I have been in Sweden several times and in several places (Lund, Malmo, Goteborg, Uppsala, Stockholm or Lulea) I wanted to buy a good Sweden guide that could give me a better knowledge of the country, its history. culture and people. I looked for several time and I found this one that gives you a very good prespective on how it is life upthere. I wouldn't considere it as a Travel Guide. If you are going to travel just for some weeks you will probably find better books (Lets Go or Lonely Planet). But if you really want to know more about the country then this is your book!

As far as information on the Gambia goes, there isn't much to choose from. Most books focus on the sites and few tell you what you will need to know to survive out there. This one has a detailed list of what to take, what to wear and what medical supplies you will need. The eating out guide is a little thin, and alot of the places have changed greatly in the years since it was written, but it can still be used as a starter. The only place the book really falls down is that it tends to skirt the more unpleasant aspects of being a rich and conspicious tourist (by their standards any tourist is rich). The reason for my 3 stars and the title is mainly that is is very much "politicaly correct".. and does slam the Apartheid every other page..
See, when i buy a guide book, I do not espect to be told through almost each page what is politically correct to think and do.. or to read that the naughty white men have invaded the peaceful and lovely local african tribes..
the historical part of the guide is pathetic in stupidity, and at the end, you feel like the only interresting thing to see in South Africa are the plants and the wildlife... ... Read More:
