.Italy: Sea to Sky - Food of the Islands, Coasts, Rivers, Mountains, Forests and Plains City Travel Guides > Books > Italian by: Ursula Ferrigno May 15, 2003 I really like Ursula Ferrigno's style of cooking, and was really looking forward to this book after reading 'Truly Italian'. The recipes in this book look great, but there are a couple of typos (which are annoying but not that big a deal) and missing steps in some recipes (I've noticed two recipes so far where there are clearly some instructions missing). It tells you how to make your own fresh egg pasta, the way Carluccio cooks his pasta (do you use a cup of cold water after cooking?) and a classification of four types of pasta. Carluccio gives also his vision on what type of sauce matches with what type of pasta. The book contains an introduction, a glossary and recipes. The recipes are categorised in four groups: pasta with vegetables, pasta with fish, stuffed pasta and pasta with meat. The recipes come with background information on the ingredients and pictures made by André Martin. The Carluccio's collection consists of eight books. Pasta is one of them. I usually get two or three recipes that become ingrained into our regular family meals. Cucina Piemontese was a bit of a deviation from this normal routine. As I looked through this cookbook, I found over a dozen recipes that I knew that I'd try to cook. So far all of the meals and deserts I have prepared seem destined to become regulars on my dinner table. I still have a few more dishes and a couple of desserts that I can't wait to make.
