Knowing the island very well, I was pleased to see a Mini Rough Guide was written about Menorca. It has some excellent sections, such as the island history and attractions.

Unfortunately, I believe it was lacking in the restaurant and bar reviews outside Mahon. One example of this was Es Castell, where only two restaurants were listed - which were by no means the best ones in town.

Don't bother buying this map - it's rubbish. Most of the roads are missing. The large areas of blank space are pebble-dashed with apparently inaccessible houses and villages. Wide, red 'Hiking trails' have been added that could be mistaken for A-roads and cover up some of the other information. These do however give some clues as to where the roads might be. Menorca may not be overly endowed with dual carriageway, or even tarmac, but surely if you can drive a car down it from one village to the next it's a road. The only useful bits are the insets of main towns. To find your way to those elusive beaches get the 'Menorca Tour and Trail Map' by David & Ros Brawn - it's much better.
