Perhaps that is why it has been compiled with loving patriotic zeal. However this aside I have been using Kurdish dictionaries for a long time and I welcome this second edition as for the price it's a very good dictionary, the best of the bunch, it beats the more expensive ones hands down as it has more definitions than much more expensive dictionaries and printed on better quality paper. If you are a student of English or Kurdish this is the dictionary to go for. I obtained a copy from Amazon however this dictionary is much cheaper in Kurdish Iraq where all the English language schools ... It provides information on just about everything you can expect to encounter on your travels through this country. The biggest truth being the Tehran traffic! This being the only issue regarding safety I had throughout my 3 week travels. The pollution makes your eyes water, and the smog hanging over the city cuts out the view of the mountains beyond. Crossing the road made a farce of the green cross code! Yes, you really do wait for others to cross and go with them! Fashions for women are variable. At that time the only Pashto books around in the UK were either written in the 19th century or were based on the Pashto spoken in Pakistan (where there are some 8 million speakers). Until December 2006 when this book came on the market there were still few others. As the synopsis states, this was written for American soldiers and civilians going to Afghanistan. What I like about it is that in one section there is a picture, the Pashto script, the English translation and a good transliteration which having studied the language I can see how it works. This would suit both those who have no knowledge of the language as well as those who have studied it. I have rated this ... Written from an angle I would never have imagined, the world of trucking has never sounded so interesting. The writing style is fluent and easy to read and the story will keep you turning the pages - well, if you're anything like me it will. A compelling story, and beautifully told by an author I have not heard of before. I really would suggest you give it a try.
