I bought this book after I read all the really positive remarks by the other reviewers. If it had such a high star rating after so many reviews there must be something good about it. I had about 2.5 stone of post baby weight to lose which I haven't been able to shift since I had my little girl nearly 3 years ago. I was also eating due to being at home full time and being tired/bored. It seemed a catch 22 - I had resigned myself to being a fat frumpy mum which then led me to comfort eating.

However after reading Paul McKenna's book (which I did straight through in 2 hours) I knew I had found something that would help. Although common sense he puts it all in such a positive and supportive way it gives you the willpower to do it. ... Read More:

my two sons aged 3 and a half and aged 15 months both sit in awe of this book! there is a traditional feel with the mummy making this fantasic tea which she is happy to share with this stranger at the door - a tiger! then there is the crazy element that you would let a tiger into your house - the tiger never roars at all and amazingly my very vocal boys never roar when they see him in this book as he is a friendly tiger.
this book is simply great, a must have for parents and children.

This book is bloody awful. The entire central premise is patronising gibberish. If this book was written by an aspergic person about his life it would excuse the bad writing. If it was an intelligent, well written explanation of an aspergic child's life then it would be alright but it's not. This book is poorly written gibberish with the pretense of being written by an Aspie to cover up its bad writing. This is so patronising it's unbelievable. If this was done of any other social group there would be howls of protest and quite right to. It's no more subtle than a white person putting on blackface for a good 'ole minstrel show.

Barack Obama clearly has a lot to say about vision, but when it comes down to it, not enough reality to talk about. The first few chapters about this book are about visions, values, morals, goals, beliefs, ideals, principles and expectations, and then go on to talk more about visions, values, morals, goals, beliefs, ideals, principles and expectations but around a different theme. This type of talk no doubt works brilliantly as a passionate speech, but reading at this level of detail gets tedious pretty quickly. Fortunately, in between all that there are stories to tell that embellish points effectively and there are other points of reference, but compared to other political books I have read, this one took much longer to make its points.

What a fantasic send off for one of the great creations of modern literature.
I have read all the Rebus books in sequence over the years and fans of the series will be delighted to know Ian Rankin has written a a suitable finale.
We join Rebus with one week until his retirement and in a great device the chapters count down the days no surprising the pieces don't slide together until the final day of the week.

A murder of a Russian poet in Kings Stable Road gives Rebus one last case to solve soon ties are being made to big business, politicians and the criminal underworld led by Rebus' nemesis Big Ger Cafferty. Is this the last chance saloon for John to finally nail Edinburgh's gangster ?

I could not put this book down. It was beautifully written with compassion and in fact, drove me to book a holiday in Crete to visit the island myself which was everything I thought it would be.

I recommend this book only if you have time to spare to read til the end. Compelling, tragic and wonderfully written. I have lent this book to members of my family who all feel the same way. I understand people have compared it to John Tayman's book Under my Skin, but this was written beautifully even though it may not contain lots of hard hitting medical facts.

I've recently got back into the kitchen and decided to purchase this book after reading the good reviews and i'm happy that i did. Before the recipes, the girls guide us through the "big offenders" in food and introduce us to calorie counting. I'm now much more aware of looking at food packaging before buying them to see their calorie contents and i'm keeping an eye on what i eat now, which i feel healthier and better for.
The recipes are easy to follow and simple to do and it just shows that you don't have to eat carrot sticks and discard desserts altogether - if you follow their advice, you can drop a dress side in a delicious way!

This book was just fantastic. Danny Wallace is an hilarious writer. This book will really have an impact on you (it did for me anyway). Not that I went as far as to say yes to everything for half a year, but it does change how you look at things. All in all a great book that you just can't put down. If there is 1 book you buy make it this one!
