A hard book to put down once started. Paul just proves that an ordinary guy can make his way through the lows & highs in life and regardless of the slandering & heartache he's endured through life he still managed to become successful, strong, funny and caring and also shows chapter by chapter he is still down to earth and not forgotten the true morals in life and thoughout his illness still manages to put others first! Musn't forget that this book was excellently put together by Neil Simpson & look forward to more of both their books.

While working for a previous company, I was sent on this course (which included reading the book). I'm sure the company meant well, but my experience of the "7 Habits of Highly Effective People", was essentially teaching people how to suck eggs.

Stephen R. Covey has made a personal fortune out of selling what most critical thinkers realise for themselves at an early age. His writings are bland and uninteresting, telling us what we already know in a language barely recognisable as English. "Synergize", "leverage", "win-win"; I'm sure you've heard them before. They are all here. Do they mean anything? In my humble opinion - not in the slightest.

Steer clear.

This is not a bad book, it is very comprehensive and well written, so it is fun to read and contains useful information. It seems intended to be read through more than as a reference book.
However, in my opinion it is a bit too much. The information overloads the reader and then it is difficcult to remember the key things a new mom has to have in mind.It would suit you if you have a control freak side and want to know absolutelly everything about -1 yr old babies. It won't suit you if you are an aprehensive person.

Let me just say one thing; I am an avid reader. I love books. Whenever I begin reading, I cannot stop halfway through, even if it is an absolutely awful book. However, this book went beyond awful. It was so far past awful it made me want to throw up (and I wish I were exaggerating). Not just because the book is basically a doctoral thesis on human psychology wrapped in a plot stolen from 'The Coral Island', but mainly because it makes no sense.

Let's start at the beginning: The arrival. The pilot manages to safely land the plane on the one island in the middle of nowhere, while the cockpit is on fire. The Smartest Giant in Town
My 3 year old son loves this story, he will request it again and again and it always holds his attention and he will listen intently. I have noticed he will attempt to read the story to himself assisted by the colourful images.
For those who liked the Gruffalo this is another fantastic childrens story by Julia Donaldson and is well worth having in your child's collection; From an adult prespective its also enjoyable to read.

Having read and loved Garth Nix's OLD KINGDOM books (SABRIEL, LIRAEL, and ABHORSEN) as well as his SEVENTH TOWER series, I had pretty high expectations when I started in on SUPERIOR SATURDAY. I wasn't
disappointed. The action moves along quickly, with new and original presentations of magic at every turn, and major and minor characters worth cheering for (or, in the case of the antagonists, against).

The sixth book in Nix's KEYS TO THE KINGDOM series picks up right where the fifth book left off, making it a little confusing to understand at first, especially if you're a newcomer to the series, like I was when reading this. having read Getting Rid of Matthew in about 3 days, i was desperate to read the second novel of Jane Fallon, Got you Back, and i wasn't disappointed, despite the subtle similarities to the first novel. James, the husband who can't keep it in his pants, Stephanie, who plays the scorned wife ever so subtley, now having another to concentrate on, letting the mistress Katie take the lead in what was originally her revenge plan. Katie is originally perceived as a naive doormat, believing every word, or accurately, lie, that comes out of James's mouth, but once realising she has been taken for a ride, the nails really come out and the naivity falls away and the story begins to take you with it at momentum pace! i loved it! Couldn't put it down.

If you enjoyed the original 'Nella Last's War' then you will enjoy this second volume just the same. The end of hostilities doesn't mean the end of either Nella's writing, or her talent with words and observation. It also certainly does not mean the end of hardship and difficulty. I drove to Barrow on the strength of the first diary and was very fortunate to meet the present owners of Nella's old house - they actually bought it off the Last family forty years ago. Just sitting in her old living room, where all those words had poured onto the page, brought Nella and her time tangibly closer. I heartily recommend this book.
