my two sons aged 3 and a half and aged 15 months both sit in awe of this book! there is a traditional feel with the mummy making this fantasic tea which she is happy to share with this stranger at the door - a tiger! then there is the crazy element that you would let a tiger into your house - the tiger never roars at all and amazingly my very vocal boys never roar when they see him in this book as he is a friendly tiger.
this book is simply great, a must have for parents and children.

I came to THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL not overly concerned with historical accuracy, but wanting a good read at least. However, what I found was to be quite a disappointment.

As many reading this review will already know, THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL centres around Mary Boleyn, the sister of Anne. Before Anne became mistress and then Queen to Henry, Mary was his mistress, used as a pawn by her family in order to gain advancement for her family. As you would expect, the sisterly relationship between Anne and Mary is portrayed as a strained one - even before Anne offically takes Mary's place. Good plot, great characters - I particularly liked the loyal World Eater, very cool.

The Smartest Giant in Town
My 3 year old son loves this story, he will request it again and again and it always holds his attention and he will listen intently. I have noticed he will attempt to read the story to himself assisted by the colourful images.
For those who liked the Gruffalo this is another fantastic childrens story by Julia Donaldson and is well worth having in your child's collection; From an adult prespective its also enjoyable to read.

I bought this book after watching a couple of shows on television. This book is not inspiring, it is westernized Indian food at best. I read the other reviews and disregarded the negative ones, this was a mistake. I hope whom ever buys this at the charity shop likes it better than I.

I was fortunate enough to not have to read this novel at school. It meant I could read it at my own pace and not have to write 10,000 words on the symbolism of blah, blah, blah. Lord of the Flies has become one of those tales that is a stereotype of itself. But I still enjoyed reading it. I think this book holds up well and it has stood the test of time. But as we move deeper into the Blu-ray generation, however, time can only tell?
