This claims to be the follow up book to 'Italian in 3 months' by the same author and published by Hugo. I have diligently read and studied this previous book, with the help of the cassettes and also done a beginners course at night class. Having got half way through the first chapter of 'Advanced Italian' I have found that many of the words used in the passages I have not encountered before. True, there is a list of some of the new words given, but less than half of the ones new to me (and presumably someone who has done the previous book), and the lists include words which were in the previous book. The choice of passages is dubious, for example a description of architecture in Vicenza which uses arty farty language , never likely ... Read More:
