. Chillow Pillow Single by Soothsoft Ltd

from: Chillow by SoothSoft
I loved my chillow (notice the past tense right there).
It keeps you colder than you would otherwise be; although there are a couple of small problems;
1 - Smells strange (not that i minded, infact i liked it but you mightn't)
2 - does eventually get warm
3 - the instructions say to not let your cat anywhere near it..
Here's my story; after a long nice cool night i woke up early morning and my chillow was pretty much warm (this was after a whole night though) so i took it out from under me and put it on the other side of the bed to let it cool a bit... when i woke up my lovely cat was sitting on it purring away unfortunately he also managed to puncture it while he was at it.
However; ... Read More:

. It's OK, I'm Wearing Really Big Knickers (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson)
City Travel Guides > Books > Special Features
by: Louise Rennison
August 01, 2005
Recently I went to see "Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging" in the cinema, but I hate seeing films I haven't read the book of. I had seen the trailer and thought it looked absolutly awesome! I quickly ordered the book from Amazon, and could not put it down! Honestly, I picked it up at 4 and did not stop reading until 8!! It is one of the best books in the world, and can only be out done in humour by the legend of Bridget Jones. It is fabulous book about very realistic problems faced by your average teenager, yet it isn't whingy or boring or moany, just hilarious and honest!! It doesn't blow anything out of proportions, like so much chick-lit does. Basically it is just fabulous!!

. The Other Boleyn Girl
City Travel Guides > Books > Special Features
by: Philippa Gregory
October 07, 2002
This book takes a few pages to find its momentum, which is the ONLY reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five. The political machinations of the upwardly mobile Boleyn family in their quest to have land, power and titles for their men, while putting their women out as brood mares, is a concept that was ripe for Philippa Gregory's golden touch.
This story is told from the point of view of Mary, Anne Boleyn's sister; the first of the two to be sent to Henry VIII's bed (in the novel, she is younger than Anne, but in real life, she was the older of the two). Anne's cap was set for Henry while Mary was giving birth to his son, and her family's ambition soon gave way to that of her own. Anne Boleyn does NOT come off well here - she is a vain, selfish ... . The Love of Her Life
City Travel Guides > Books > Special Features
by: Harriet Evans
July 01, 2008
I was browsing Tesco when I came across 'The Love of her life' and after having read through the contents of my bedroom at least twice I decided to take the chance and it certainly paid off. From the moment I started I just didn't want to put it down. I found myself sympathising with Kate the whole way through and I loved how the story unfolded and I was rooting for her and Mac the whole way through. I couldn't help but relate it to my own life.
I am now going to buy every Harriet Evans novel there is...she's capitvated me!
I've now leant it to a friend who is also totally in love with it!
Best book I've read in ages!

. Cook with Jamie: My Guide to Making You a Better Cook
City Travel Guides > Books > Special Features
by: Jamie Oliver
October 05, 2006
You know the drill, you see a cookbook in the shop, pick it up and browse through, see about 3 or 4 recipes that grab you and head for the checkout... Then, when you get home and cook a couple you find the rest of the book overly complicated and ultimately it gets tucked away with the rest of the Gordon's, Nigella's etc etc to gather dust. Not so with the latest offering from Mr Oliver... I've bought most of Jamie's books and I've tried a fair few of his recipes over the years, but this book contains the best selection yet in my opinion. I actually bought this particular one for my husband as he'd promised 2008 would be the year he finally learnt to cook more than beans on toast! But I've also found it really comprehensive and easy to follow too. Our favourite recipes so far are pan ... Read More:

. Toll the Hounds (Malazan Book of the Fallen)
City Travel Guides > Books > Special Features
by: Steven Erikson
July 01, 2008
I have nothing but respect and admiration for Steven Erikson and his Malazan series but with this latest offering some flaws are becoming noticeable.
First the positives:
Erikson has ramped up the stylism of his prose for Toll the Hounds and it's very impressive. Although some reviewers have criticised this change I found that it allowed me to read through from first page to last and stay interested all the way through. This is in contrast with some of his earlier novels where I have to admit there were sections where the prose got very heavy/chunky and I tended to skim read a little.
The storytelling is once again on that convoluted and grand/epic scale we've come to expect where, for the most part, the victories and losses of the "dramatis personae" all ... Read More:
