As always with Rachel's books, the recipes are easy to follow and turn out the way you expect them to - so you get great results with a minimum of fuss. There is something for every occasion in this book, as the chapter titles show: "Food for the Soul", "Childhood Favourites", "Making Memories", "Something to Celebrate", "The Lazy Sunday", "An Elegant Afternoon", Pleasure Without the Guilt", "Food for Romance", "For the Love of Chocolate" and "Classic Dishes". I tried the "White Chocolate Buns" and they were dead easy to make, I even managed to whip them up before going to work, something I normally wouldn't be able to do, since I'm not exactly a member of the rise and shine party. A nice and quick read for those of a racier nature. There are several short stories to wet your appetite or anything else! Thoroughly enjoy this book.

With beautiful pictures and lyrical text this is a book you can start reading to your little one from a very early age. Even though my little boy doesn't understand he loves the pictures of big and little nutbrown hare and he knows its about love because of the tone in my voice and the big hugs!

Also it's great for dads: normally depictions of love in children's books seem to be a Mum and a baby; Big Nutbrown Hare is the father!

Because it's a bit more "wordy" than most baby books I think it's good for youngsters to learn that the weird squiggly black things (letters!) have something to do with the story too.

I was given this book to review several months ago, and it's been sitting on my 'to do' shelf ever since. I kept procrastinating because... well, it seemed like it would be a very dull read. I didn't even know what 'Behavioral Economics' was, and it didn't exactly sound like a page-turner.

In fact, I've discovered that I couldn't have been more wrong. It *is* a page-turner. I usually picked it up intending to read just one chapter, then didn't set it down until I'd read three or four.

The chapters are quite short and 'bite-sized'.

I have read all of Tasmina Perrys books and I thoroughly enjoyed this one yet again.... This is a great read to take on holiday you just immerse yourself into the characters. I would recommend all of her books, they are easy to read and always a pleasure. Cant wait for the next one.....

Elizabeth Pantley's book is especially great for those parents co-sleeping and breastfeeding. It fills in the gaps where the Sears Attachment Parenting and Baby Sleep books fail on this angle. It mentions the co-dependancy of daytime naps and night-time sleeping.

BUT having specifically mentioned two mothers with lap-napping babies that were cured of this sleeping preference, guidance on how to achieve success was not supplied. Another mother was cured of taking bedtime with her baby due to separation issues but again this was frustratingly not addressed.

A major factor in Elizabeth's advice is the emphasis on placing your baby down to sleep when still awake but without satisfactory guidance on how to manage non-conformity. Placing baby down when 'almost ... Read More:

IT is times when I see people reactions to such work, that my beliefs in supernatural powers and mysterious unexplained things in life strengthen, and no, I am not talking about Susie Salmon, but rather the lovely bones. I gave it two stars for the original idea, and nice layout of events. But neither the plot nor the artistic wording had any strong impact in that. Its a shame actually as it is a nice idea and would've been much more meaningful if was explored correctly. Over all, not impressed.

Having an interest in the Spanish civil war and liking crime novels, i thought this would be just right, but found it all wrong.Yet another book that relies, in the plot, on improbable coincidences that feel like a deception, an easy way out. Life in postwar Madrid does not seem real, although it may be well-researched. The writing is overblown - too many adjectives, too many unnecessary awkward details: (his eyes went flickering over the desk...)and the characters talk in a kind of brief-encounter-speak, which soon palls. Worst of all, there is no real pace in the book, or drive to find out what is going to happen next to the uninteresting characters. The reviews quoted on the cover are baffling, and just show that you shouldn't believe everything you read in the newspapers...

I picked this up as the blurb sounded good. I wasn't disappointed. As a couple of the other reviews say it is slighly comic book, but all in all a great entertaining read. I'm now going to go back and read his other books.
