Have had every edition and I still carry a copy in my bag. Anyone doing acute takes who thinks they don't need to reflect on some aspects of some cases will come to grief. I am reassured when I see junior docs carrying a well worn copy.

I was appalled by this book on several levels: the abysmal writing, the complete lack of editorial judgement (it could have been cut by at least 50%), the author's vastly inflated opinion of himself and his views on life, but most of all by the awful glorification of crime. For those who have submitted rave reviews of this book did they forget the fact that this man was convicted af armed robbery and sentenced to 19 years in prison? Despite his claims that he is "born again" in India and becomes a "Man of Peace" (the meaning of Shantaram) he goes on to join the Bombay Mafia, becoming involved in drug smuggling and passport forgery!! Karlology is a great book. I think his books are just getting better and better. There is much more effort put into this one then 'happyslapped by a jellyfish'. It is not just a diary, karl actually goes out and documents his reasearch on the brain. He goes of on tangents in a little less but this book still remains top notch.

A must buy for any fans of the KP

If you were ever looking for a coffee table story of The Clash look no more. The stories and many of the photographs will be familiar to Clash fans but the book is none the worse for that.

The book is beautifully produced for the price, I think even at non Amazon prices the book would be a bargain.

A little naughty to say that this is an autobiography created by all four band members seeing as Joe has not been around for some time, however it is a book that any Clash/punk aficionado will love.

If you were ever looking for a coffee table story of The Clash look no more. The stories and many of the photographs will be familiar to Clash fans but the book is none the worse for that.

I have just bought this book and only really to get my free postage on my order - but what a great book! I only have a passing inerest in photography but often wondered how people got shots like they do. This book is presented in an easy to understand format and don't take any notice about the negative remarks about humour - it's there for a reason, to fix the ideas in your memory. I'm going to order the second volume as well.

The Other Queen is the story of Mary, Queen of Scots, during a specific period in her life--the time that she spent in the home of George Talbot and his wife, Bess, at Tutbury Castle. It was a period fraught with political turmoil and the threat of another civil war, as Mary attempted to regain her throne. The story is told from the point of view of all three characters.

I have to say straight away that this was not one of Philippa Gregory' best--a shame, since I was looking forward to reading it. I was fortunate enough to be taught by Geoff Petty when I was taking my Cert. Ed. It spoke volumes that, while other lecturers' classes were sporadically attended, it was difficult to get a seat in Geoff's classes!

This man is an inspirational teacher and it comes across in his writing, which is full of easy-to-follow concepts and examples. If you aspire to be an inspirational teacher too, or if you're just trying to find ways in which to get through the day a bit more easily, then you need this book on your shelves.

I am Gay and i think you'll find that this story still resonates but more like a just-polished cameo piece from a forgotten time. We've got a pretty complete collection of Jamie Oliver books so you would think there is a possibility he gets repetitive. Pleased to say however that he has come up with a big book (I think his heaviest to date) of fresh new ideas. Again, they are imaginative and appealing, while still being straightforward to reproduce. A sensible book to have.
