Here it is, the cure for insomnia!

Given that one of the aims of the Life in the UK test is to test English literacy, you would think the official guide would be written in accessible English! Instead, we are handed this sloppy compilation of pointless statistics, useless abbreviations, dry facts with little context and advice that will make you slap your forehead and scowl: 'Well, OBVIOUSLY!'

A blue box pops up every so often asking the reader 'check that you understand...', but oftentimes what is listed has NOT been explained or even mentioned in what you've just finished reading. Often fiction books talking about OCD dont do the illness any justice, formed on stereotypical hand-washers or hoarders etc. However this book is different! finally a book that looks at the emotional pain OCD casuses and shows the hell OCD is to live with. this book is great for OCD sufferers to read and also to publicise the hidden depths of OCD. really enjoyed the book, although i dont know how someone without OCD would view it but having it myself i found myself nodding along to things grace talks about... if only we could all find a seamus to get us through treatment! great book, well worth a read.

Might seem a bit contradictory, but this is not at all a page-turner in the normal sense of rapid movement and action - the detail is far too deep, dark and dense for that. And indeed that is exactly what keeps you turning the pages - the dour, opressive, stifling atmosphere of Stalin's Russia. It seeps into every corner of the main character's, Leo's, life, and that of his parents and wife Raisa. It tinges every single decision they make - what job he takes so that his parents get a decent apartment, and indeed it becomes part of Raisa's attraction to him. One of fear and becoming part of the system rather than left outside it. I must have bought four copies of this as it gets borrowed and never comes back!

Albert Pierrepoint was the last in a dynasty of executioners. As such he wrote a book that is a record of his early life and immediate family history that is couched in the language of the working class man who considers himself the upholder of dignity and standards. This comes across strongly in his references to his work. Albert was very much a man of his time and considered executioner to be a post which carried a great deal of both importance and the need to be dignified at all times.

I have waited for Dorian book from the begin and the wait was well worth it. He was the character that your heart bled for in first book and his pain his anguish was there to be seen.

A year later his pain hasn't diminished and the "Boy Genius" is back with a vengeance, blazing across the pages. His relationship with Shaya is complicated but did we expect it to be any less?

I love hearing about the Pack interaction it's as normal as any large extended family only they have claws. The background story is getting more and more meatier as each book gets published.

I know I haven't critiqued the storyline, but why spoil the fun!!!
All I can say is that it was well worth my fiver!

While working for a previous company, I was sent on this course (which included reading the book). I'm sure the company meant well, but my experience of the "7 Habits of Highly Effective People", was essentially teaching people how to suck eggs.

Stephen R. Covey has made a personal fortune out of selling what most critical thinkers realise for themselves at an early age. His writings are bland and uninteresting, telling us what we already know in a language barely recognisable as English. "Synergize", "leverage", "win-win"; I'm sure you've heard them before. They are all here. Do they mean anything? In my humble opinion - not in the slightest.

Steer clear.

Amazing book. I simply could not put it down. It made me cry in places and now my husband is reading it and finding the book equally moving. Stick at it, as its a slightly slow starter, but its worth the wait!

I have just finished this book and, after Dissolution, I am well and truly addicted to this series. I really like the lead character of Matthew Shardlake and the other characters in this and the previous book. Will be starting on Sovereign asap and can't wait to read Revelation from what I've read on Amazon about that story. There seems to be a plethora of murder-thriller type books set in the 15th-16th century around at the moment but this is without doubt the best of them all.
