What a fantastic book ! I paid less than £3.00 for this book from Doonhill books and received a brand new, beautiful, big, well illustrated vegan/veggie cook book plus so much more ! I am going to read it again from start to finish as there is so much more interesting information given to the reader ( if you are already into yoga you'll love it and if you're not it's a great cook book ! ) than just recipes. Can't praise it enough ; please authors,write more !

Potatoes are not generally viewed by the masses as a delicacy and this staple of many households is given a makeover in this reference book. The photography by Grant Symon is breathtaking and the text leads the reader through the history, growing tips, varieties (potato portraits), and recipes (simple, classic and new).

Some of the recipes (again beautifully illustrated) are a little out of reach for even the most adventurous home cook and a little pretentious for my taste, but perhaps I have missed the point and this compilation of recipes, contributed by a selection of top chefs from around the world, was meant to be consumed by the eye alone?

I purchased this book just before Xmas and have already made quite a number of the recipes. Without fail they have been a total success! We have enjoyed everything I have made from this book and it will certainly be in constant use in my kitchen.I am now going to order Dreena's first book The Everyday Vegan as I am so impressed with Vive.

I really like this book, it is constantly off the shelf, really well presented with full colour illustrations for every recipe and an at a glance guide for what you need for each one as well as some illustrated instructions. The carrot cake is fab, the bean burgers scrummy BUT don´t expect your toodler to suddenly start eating peppers and spinach etc just because author says they will! One of mine is eating broccoli now thanks to this book though! Worth every penny.

The book itself is well laid out and planned. There is clear information on different types of beans and how to use them. I thought there would be more vegetarian recipies. However one cannot argue against the simplicity and clarity with which all this information is presented, very good book overall.

I've had this book a few months now and they all taste so good I am takng the trouble to say YES! Don't be put off by the rather high cost of the ingredients on average it costs about £[...] to make 1 pound of vice cream but the results are definitely worth it, so be good to yourself.

I bought this book in 1986, there were very few books around then that treated nutrition as a serious subject. I read this book, and others by adelle davies, miriam polunin,etc.I changed the way my family ate. Many of my friends took heed and also modified their family's diet. my son gary mccallion died six years ago from testicular cancer,i will never get over our loss, however i am comforted by the knowledge that bad dietary habits did not contribute to his illness. Read this book and take charge of your life.
