SO far everything I have made from this book has been wonderful. The bread recipe is amazing and really does only need 3 hours dehydrating. The mango cobbler recipe is delicious and the colour pictures in the middle really make you want to eat so much more healthily.

I have just ordered a replacement copy of this book. I have had my original copy since it first came out in the 1980's,but it is so worn out due to use. I have made most of the soup recipes over and over. The tomato soup recipe is the simplest ever - not having to skin the tomatoes - it all goes in and what with hand blenders that can go straight into the pot, soups are soon ready, taste so fresh and nicer than the tin variety. This book is not just about soups though, there are starters, main courses, cakes, puddings/desserts etc. I am not a vegetarian, but think every keen cook would benefit from having a copy of this book.

Fantastic, easy to follow recipes, the fact you do not need any measuring equipment is a winner for me, started off with the original nosh 4 students and this is the perfect partner.

Have to be honest, it's rare I'll even bother to write a book review but feel compelled to here. After being a veggie for 20 years, I'm toying with the idea of becoming a vegan. I'm not one for being preached at and most 'activists' irritate me beyond description. Also, I'm not one for overblown American in your face type writing, so I was a little apprehensive about buying this. I needn't have been. It's superb. Honest, humorous, non preachy and debunks many myths including several perpetuated by vegans themselves. The authors include links for further info and resources which adds to the value too. If you're considering becoming a vegan or even just flirting with the idea, buy this book.

I have had this book on my shelves for a couple of years now and unfortunately didnt look at it being more into the low fat way of eating. Ive been vegetarian for approx 20 years and have been putting on weight since a cholecystectomy 12 years ago. The key thing for this diet is that this book has enabled me to diet without feeling hungry - cravings are at a minimum. Weight loss wise the first couple of weeks I lost nearly a stone and loss has been around 2-3 lbs since then. While it requires some form of dedication from the dieter, the author has adapted low carb foods for the vegetarian/vegan diet amazingly well and with great creativity. This has helped me no end. Incomplete recipes for turgid slop! I have been a veggie for 22 years, and am a good cook/baker, so I thought I'd try this. It looks like a good idea (if you can get past the pseudo-science in the intro), but the recipes just don't work, that's if she's bothered to finish them - several had bits missing, which is just lazy writing/editing.

I first came across rose Elliott's Bean Book when I was at University and I literally taught myself to cook from it and survived on a very slender budget by cooking all her wonderful, cheap and tasty bean recipes.

My original copy was falling to pieces so I've just bought this new edition -- and i still love it! The warmth and friendliness of the book are very encouraging and the recipes are lovely.

I received my copy of La Dolce Vegan only this morning and I love it already!
It's author Sarah Kramer has really put her heart in to it.
The recipes are simple and easy to follow and every one of them sounds delicious! I love the way the book is presented, it makes you want to
put the kettle on, sit down with a cup of tea and have a good read of it.
Sarah makes veganism very accessible, she is down to earth and talks about
veganism without sounding too opinionated or arrogant.
I would like to point out that I very rarely bother to review any of the
books I buy but this one deserves a recommendation!
I recommend Sarah Kramers "La Dolce Vegan!" to anyone interested in cooking

CBB's recipes are quick and easy to follow. Moreover, the food is delicious - you'll want to eat these dishes even if you aren't vegetarian or on a low-carb diet. If you are, you'll be pleased to know that they work; I'm enjoying food more than before and losing weight. This is the best cookery book I've ever bought.
