We have been using this book for about 7 months now, and find the information very helpful in how to feed our new arrival. How to introduce different types of food and when have made life so much easier for my wife and I. The recipes are very easy to follow and we would recommend this book to anyone who has just had a baby.

This is THE greatest veggy cook book I have got. I have bought quite a few and this is by far the best. It gives great basic tips at the beginning on how/what etc and the recipes are great - using all store cupboard stuff and easy stuff that you can get anywhere without hunting too much. Cheap too as promised!! This is the only cook book where I have done more than one recipe from!!!

I was incredibly pleased to finally find a Vegan lunch recipe guide after months of searching amazon and various other websites. The book is written nicely and has lots of fun and creative ideas for lunch boxes. It's not very adult orientated, it's mainly about giving your kids fun and healthy veggie meals but it can be adapted to the more grown up taste. The lunches featured include vegan sushi recipes, mock meat recipes and a wide range of appetisers and desserts. Like the majority of vegan recipe books on the market that I have come across it doesn't have many pictures which I think would make it much more useful and it also has recipes for mainly US mock meats and such which aren't as widely available in Europe. I really like this book and do find it inspirational. However, many many of the recipes just can't be made. They take too long, the ingredients are difficult to find or prohibitively expensive.
I still think this book is worth buying though for the remaining recipes that can be made. The cool smoothies, salads, juices and some of the cookies and sweets.

This is a wondeful cookbook which provides recipes for some unusual ingredients, and all are lovely (and some, like woodland produce, are in fact free!) You'll feast on such unusual dishes as nettle risotto, tart with wild garlic leaves and feta cheese, watercress soup, parsnip, fennel and quinoa pilaf, and a spelt farotto. So unusual but so delicious. I have been a veggie for nearly 15 years and have accumulated quite a large selection of cookbooks in that time but none of them have introduced me to so many unknown yet positively divine foods as Denis Cotter has. And don't worry, if you have a wholefood store and a woodland near you, there's no reason why you should not be able to make all the foods in this book.

What a fantastic little book this is and you don't have to be vegan to enjoy the recipes because they are great as they are. My husband loves the chilli recipe and I can't make enough of it for him. And what a great idea to make shepherd's pie and lasagne in a slow cooker. I would never have even thought of that. The desserts are delicious too.

If you love having more time and to yourself and eating really healthy and tasty meals, then this is the book you need. It's full of receipes from around the world that you can just prepare, throw into the slow cooker and leave to cook all day. This is one of the main books I use for weekday cooking - the recipes are easy, quick to prepare and make use of ingredients that you have in your cupboard or fridge. Don't expect sensational and spectacular dinner party solutions in here, because this is not the book to wow your guests with; however, it does result in healthy, hearty recipes that taste very good and nutritious in a traditional, simple sort of way, perfect for the weekday cook who does not have 3 hours to whip up a meal. This isn't a book with long lists of ingredients - in fact, its simplicity of ingredients and seasonings is just what I like about it.
