This encyclopedia of 418 pages with a forward by Dexter Manley must be treasured by a Redskins fan. Redskins have a rich history that spans eight decades. This team from the nation's capital has millions of loyal fans across the country and abroad. The fan-list includes many presidents. This is one of the NFL's original teams, and this book recreates many historical moments, and statistics that are of high value of a true fan. Hardcore, the actual word, means pure, undiluted, real. Look at anything that's branded hardcore and it will be full-on. This book tackles with possibly the most real form of music to stem from the rock/punk/metal scene of the last century. There is a raw, intense passion that began as a slow roll but soon gathered speed like some gigantic musical avalanche, and it started here - Washington DC.

Some musicians of the still rife DC scene have decided to disapprove of this book, saying that it is very final - as if all that's contained within it's pages is the complete history of the DC scene, full stop. This is a lovely little hardback that's perfect for sticking in your coat pocket to get out at any moment for a quick read of.
It's split into chapters such as birds, plants, animals etc. which is why I only give it 4 stars. Ok Haiku usually come in themed chapters, but I feel that this is too narrow and you get say seven poems all about nightingales followed by three about swans and that does make it slightly repetative feeling where if they were mixed up it would be more pleasurable.
But that asside there's an extensive collection of themes from the classics like Basho through to modern verse too.
A pleasurable book indeed.
