I originally bought this from B&Q and loaded it with batteries. It was great for a week but then started squarking. I got a replacment from B&Q but this was no better. I spoke directly to the company (STV) and they were very good, they exchanged and sent me a replacement, this was OK but I could hear it - they told me that I should definitely not be able to and have sent me yet another replacment. This time it appears to be OK but it has only been on for an hour, we'll see how it goes.
I have a feeling that it becomes audible when the batteries get low - anyone having problems should try loading new batteries.
Even though I could hear them they did appear to be effective.

This product is a poor man's 'Scarecrow' which is a similar (but more expensive) product and which is way better made and hugely more reliable than the Jet Repeller.

I am currently on my second one. The first was poorly finished and leaked around a washer/plastic screw thread area. It also went off every few seconds regardless of the sensitivity setting. The replacement was ok for a (very) short while but now the gyrating sprinkler action has jammed up and so it just squirts water in one place.

Also, the range of height adjustment in terms of how high or low the jet of water goes is very poor - it is not possible to get the spray down to a low enough setting which means that siting is restricted (unless you like drowning ... Read More:
