I originally bought this from B&Q and loaded it with batteries. It was great for a week but then started squarking. I got a replacment from B&Q but this was no better. I spoke directly to the company (STV) and they were very good, they exchanged and sent me a replacement, this was OK but I could hear it - they told me that I should definitely not be able to and have sent me yet another replacment. This time it appears to be OK but it has only been on for an hour, we'll see how it goes.
I have a feeling that it becomes audible when the batteries get low - anyone having problems should try loading new batteries.
Even though I could hear them they did appear to be effective.

Well although I maybe going over old ground here, I really do think every penny I spent on this product was worth it. We brought it when our two kittens found out how to get up to the bathroom sink and decided that they wanted to join in, play in the water and drink from the taps. When it arrived it was set up straight away, they took to it immediately, it certainly encourages them to drink more, and they much prefer it to the normal water bowl we have in the hallway. It hasn't stopped them playing in the sink, so much, but at least it gives them something else to play in for a bit and can even give us five minutes peace while we clean our teeth. It also has the advantage of looking kind of cool.

I like keeping track of how many steps I take in a day, and this is a perfect way to do it. It costs more than other pedometers but is in a class by itself. You can put it in your pocket and forget it, unlike belt mounted pedometers. It is unbelievably accurate -- I tested it many times and found it dead on. It has a filter so that you don't count steps when you are sitting down, and this works really well. (Such filters are quite rare, although good quality pedometers do have them).

It is also very very small. With all the gadgets I carry this is a big plus.
