Five stars for the product, no stars at all for BT's customer support.

The product is great - I've owned a cheaper baby monitor and it wasn't worth having because of interference. This one has all the features you need and you don't have to listen to buzzing all evening!

But... the one I bought was faulty - the mute feature wouldn't turn off (intermittently) so the baby yelled and we heard nothing. BT offer an email support service which they simply ignore and a helpline number which (while free - they've changed it from 0870: good!) isn't answered within any reasonable time. So buy the product, check it works (took us 2 weeks to be sure ours didn't) and be comforted by the fact that Amazon has a great returns process ... Read More:

Why would you purchase this adaptor at this price? I popped down to my local pound shop and picked up a multi adaptor, took it home flicked the switch to 9v and there you go power for a pound.

We bought this for our 2 and a half years old girl when i was in hospital having our 2nd child. Her wee brother gave it to her as a gift to say "hello". She couldn't of been any happier. She is a Fifi fan-but i wouldn't say Fifi was her favourite (she prefers Dora) but still she pays with this cottage EVERY day. The characters are fantastic!! It features all the characters from the programme- Fifi, Bumble, Violet, etc. Her imagination has certainly progressed since getting this from her wee brother!! She loves making them all take turns at the cooker or in the hamock. I do agree with some other reviewers that the door falls off easily but it can be put on no problem. We have had an egg for a couple of years now. Our daughters bedroom is subject to extreme temp changes and we needed to be able to see what the temperature was in the dark. The egg seemed to be the perfect solution, and it has been. It has a lovely glow as a night light, and it has always been accurate enough to warn us when we need to open her windows (summer time!) or put extra blankets over her (sometimes her room becomes so cold that we have to put the heating on in the middle of the night!).
If you live in a modern home with proper central heating and insulation, then you probably don't really need a bedroom thermometer (or perhaps you'll be one of these people worrying about a thermometer being one or two degrees out!), but if you are worried that ... Read More:

i got this for 9.99 on sale, and yes its big and plasticky but it works fine. i don't know what people expect to get for this price really....
in my house it does get a bit of buzzy interferance but its so sensitive i can almost always hear baby breathing and you can have it turned down in front of you and watch the lights for action.
i would happily get another one for my parents house.
don't know how the other person managed to have a faulty charger as i doesn't have a charger, just a mains adaptor.
oh, and you do sometimes pick up other monitors/phones so if you are nosey its great, although they can probably hear you talking to your baby like a mentalist too...!

My daughter is 9 months and has had the giraffe for about a month. She stands up using it no problem and immediately stops crying and turns to it if I start playing with it and she is upset. We had no problems at all and all her cousins (1yr to 4yrs) love playing with it too.
