. Logic3 Wii Fit Balance Board Cushion Mat (Wii)
City Travel Guides > Video Games > Video Games
from: Logic 3
June 02, 2008
Just posted this as an answer in the discussion forms, so thought I might as well add it as a review...
Yes I have this and its ok, can't really compare it to a silicone skin as I haven't tried one, but this is quite good. It hooks on to the bottom of your balance board using the two elastic straps underneath and it seems to hold quite well - there are little grooves near the board feet and the elastic fits in there.
I haven't really noticed any difference in the boards sensitivity either so that is a bonus. The ends of the mat can curl up a bit and it can feel a bit grippy at first but only while you are getting used to it. Its about 5-8 mm thick I would say and it has a kind of basket weave texture to it.

. Xbox 360 Common Controller (PC/Xbox 360)

The truth is that I was never too big on controllers, but having got a hold of GRID and Lego Indiana Jones, I decided that needed one.
This is THE controller, if you don't already have one, or are not looking for a specialist type, I highly recommend this one!
Pro's: Great design, comfortable in the hands, new games come with in built compatibility (no need to set the keys), great for football, action, platform and driving games, very responsive, same standard as an Xbox 360 controller. No need for batteries, drivers install in a minute. Can be used as a second controller if you have an Xbox 360, the wire means that you don't accidentally turn on the Xbox when you use it.
Con's: It wasn't available a few ... Read More:

Family Trainer: Outdoor Challenge (Wii)
(Review taken from NGamer magazine)
Twenty-two years ago, Bandai released the dancemat-style Family Trainer for the famicom with its first title, Athletic World. Unfortunately, this reimagined Family Trainer game hasn't progressed much since its first incarnation, but-as luck would have it- neither has exercise. So, with over two decades of experience, surley the original Wii Fit can put Nintendo's trendy imposter in it's place?
Well, there's the problem. Wii Fit is a naff-o game with a brilliant peripheral that has Wii developers foaming at the mouth with the novel ideas. Family Trainer, on the other hand, is a naff-o game with an equally rubbish peripheral. There are ... Read More:

. Nintendo DS Lite Handheld Console (White)
City Travel Guides > Video Games > Video Games
from: Nintendo
June 23, 2006
Having religiously avoided computer games since the early nineties PC version of games, buying this impressive little piece of kit was a revelation. Bought with the popular Brain Training software programme, we've used this everyday on a recent holiday and had good fun with it, proving that families can indeed be brought together for fun with technology rather than becoming uncommunicative zombies!
The DS lite is well-constructed, and seems to have an excellent battery life, making it ideal for travel. As far as Brain Training goes - well the novelty wears of pretty quickly, although the temptation is always there to have just one more try to get your brain age down to a respectable number. With seemingly endless other games available, ... Read More:

. Buzz! Quiz TV with Buzzers (PS3)

I love the Buzz series of games, having bought the majority of them (except Sport and Movies - too 'niche' for my liking), so I was happy to see the next generation of Playstation getting its own version.
First we had to put up with the game being delayed again and again. This just pumped up the expectation, I mean, a version that can go online, has wireless buzzers and is stored on Blu-Ray (just think of all the content!) must be spectacular fun surely? Alas, no.
Playing against others online is dull. One buzzer per sofa? Boring. I want to play against the mates that I'm with as well as other people across the world (a la Mario Kart Wii). The MyBuzz feature is nice, but restrictive. 8 questions, all presented in one basic round. No option for ... Read More:
