This is just as great as all the other books - easy, delicious recipes that actually work in normal life. You'll find some really new, inspiring recipes for pasta and risotto ... One of my favourites is the "salmon fillet wrapped in prosciutto with herby lentils, spinach and yoghurt" (tasty and moist). The book is also great, if you're planning to make your own pasta but don't know exactly how: Jamie explains this in detail. I would recommend this book to everyone!

It is always a sheer pleasure to read his books. But this one stands out: it starts off with his diary, and gradually shows you traditional French cuisine (and a few exotic dishes French people eat). The book itself has a calm and nostalgic tone in the background (one pity is not all recipes have a picture of the finished dish. So unless you have seen the programme, it is difficult to see if you got it right)

I do know that some poeple were a little puzzled / annoyed, and I did feel the same when, in this programme, he highly praised French cuisine and by contrast slugged off Britain and its food culture a little ... specially this programme was made right after his "Food Heroes in Britain" where he had praised British produce and producers. ... I have to admit that a few years ago I did not really like Jamie - found him a bit annoying, but boy have I changed my mind - he had made what is without a doubt the best series of cookery programmes there is around at this time. Using fresh everyday ingredients from his garden, everyday equipment which is in most homes he produces delicious, nutritious wholesome healthy food - yes there is the odd rich desert but nothing wrong with a bit of cream every now and then. Loving cooking and not being a bad one I own many cookery dvd & books, 99% pale in comparison. Buy Jamie, use it and enjoy good food.

I can only imagine that Jamie Oliver wrote the script for this himself. Provided you dont get irritated by the continual "take the old saucepan and chuck in the old wine and give it a stir with yer old wooden spoon etc etc" this is ok.

I bought it as it was so cheap. There are a couple of decent recipes and a couple of reasonable hints. Overall I was disappointed with this as it failed to meet my expectations being overly simplistic and (have I mentioned this already) having a very annoying presentation style.

Overall worth it for under a fiver but only just!

J-O as I call him, what is there to say that hasn't already been said a hundred times for better or worse? Not a great deal, however as one of the big two, Ramsay being the other, Jamie & his team got this series spot on, yes there was clever editing & selfless promoting of himself and frankly that no surprise.

The best part of JK is journey that you see Jamie & his budding trainees go on, "worts 'n' all, from the original selection, to the micking taking developers, to family life & to the reality of opening 15. The series is charming, as is Jamie, but brutally honest at times and whilst it does have a good conclusion for many. Naked Chef 3 is just brilliant. Like everything Jamie does, he really inspires you to get cooking trying both his recipes and and feeling confident enough to adapt recipes or make up your own from scratch.

Until now Naked chef 3 has only been available on video and not DVD. This boxed set includes all three Naked Chef recipes. Also on Jamie's website, you can now type in one word on the recipe search and it will bring up a list of results, telling you which book and dvd that recipe can be found on. So, if like me, you suddenly decide you'd like to make one of his recipes and aren't sure which dvd you saw it on, you can search his site for say chocolate and in the results it will tell you all the chocolate recipes he has done in his books and videos ... A nice change. Its not just 'Another cookbook' by a celebrity chief. This explians how to grow and cook yourself.
Probably the best book Jaime has written.

.Simple Italian Cookery

a range of recipes some of which you will have seen before. I think the strength of this book is that it is so small (i.e. there's not hundreds of recipes) and so all it contains are dishes you'd actually want to cook and, possibly more importantly, those you can cook.

Unlike other cook books, Aldo doesnt just show you the finished product and give you instructions on how to get there, he also gives you photographs of what the dish should look like at various stages so this gives you some condfidcence that what you are doing is right.

If you've never cooked Italian before (and I have) then this is a good book to get you started - a book full of simple cooking, simply put !
