I wonder where LP will set its own limit on the destinations they cover. Being excellent and nr.1 in guidebooks of unexplored, less known or not well organized places, they also have written books about places like Malta (and The Canary Islands) where one can go easy on your own without a guidebook like this one.
About Malta there are numerous guidebooks with detailled descriptions of the places, and that is what people ever need to visit Malta. Most people will be there in some sort of package tour already anyway. Once there the locals speak english and the island is so well organized you do not need a LP to find out what to do, how to get around etc. The tourist office is also extremely well providing brochures, maps of everything you ... i had this and the little aa guide book too. must admit i prefered the little one as it told you what buses you needed to get to certain attractions and the spiral guide didnt.

I got this on my first trip to Malta along with another guide book and this was the one I got out whenever I needed to know something. It's easy to use and the information is fairly up to date. A must.

Sketchy and hastily put together. Despite having been updated several times, this guidebook still gets the orientation of Corso Vittorio Emmanuele in Palermo wrong. It does not run north to south. This is based on an Italian publication so there's really no excuse. It also doesn't tell you how to get from the airport to Palermo. The photos are ok though.
