This is a great, easy to use large scale map which would have been perfect for a road trip if it hadn't started to fall apart after just 2 days. The spiral-bound sheets are far too thin and ripped easily.

Having a previous issue of the guide,purchased a number of years ago,I hesitated in buying the up to date version.
It was pleasing to see the many improvements made to what was already a good guide.It now has 400 pages including 48 pages of practical information.
I have tested the contents by two visits to Switzerland and found it very useful with the suggested itineries and recommended hotels and restaurants which are accurate and concise.An easy to carry book that has proved an invaluable purchase.

The green Michelin guides are a classic reference, but I'm not an unconditional fan. This guide is more than 300-pages long and covers everything you might need to make your visit a success. I bought this guide not so much for the regions or famous cities, but for the occasional visit to places such as Hanover, Karlsruhe or Kiel. I lived in Germany for a while, and I speak a little German, and there are far better guides out there when visiting Berlin or Munich. So this guide is useful, but not more than that.

This is a good guide book, as all the guide books in the series, but I did expect a bit more from it. I travelled around Italy together with my husband the summer of 2005, and we used this guide book a lot. But it is a guide book, nothing more. There are quite a bit of things that have changed since the book was last edited, but this is expected. We are planning to send the findings we did to the editor, so that it can be added or changed in the next edition, perhaps.
We felt that the book focused too much on churches, castles etc, and a lot of really interesting things were missed - like the local food markets, which we love to visit. There wasn't much of "different" or "special" recommendations, it was just focusing on the "What to see ... Read More:
