Editorial Review:
Book Description:
With theme parks more popular than ever the third edition of The AAA Guide to North America's Theme Parks will be a welcome addition to every family's library. Whether you're planning to revisit a favorite standby such as Disney World (America's number-one paid tourist attraction) or curious to try a more unusual spot, like Dollywood or Ghost Town in the Sky, you'll find this book indispensable. AAA, America's most trusted source of travel information, presents the only comprehensive guide to more than one hundred of the most exciting theme parks in the United States and Canada, from Island of Big Surf to The Three Worlds of Santa's Village. In this completely revised and updated edition, you'll find everything you need to plan a successful, fun-packed family vacation:
Description of each park
Rides, shows, and attractions
Restaurants, snack bars, and shops
Operating hours and admission fees
Special tips on enjoying your visit
Travel directions
Whether you're planning an extended vacation with the kids or just looking for a weekend romp close to home, The AAA Guide to North America's Theme Parks will inspire you with great ideas and arm you with complete information.

This guide is now somewhat out-of-date, but it is much livelier and more useful than the O'Brien book. You really get a sense of each place. The O'Brien book is deadly dull (which is weird, given the subject matter) and not formatted so you can go directly to the information you need.
Rating: -
While AAA puts out some great books, this is not one of them. There are a lot of mistakes. Whoever compiled this stuck with the mainstream parks and used park-supplied information with little or no original research evident. If you're looking for a guide, there's none better than Tim O'Brien's The Amusement Park Guide. It lists nearly 300 parks and is written by someone who knows the industry better than just about anyone!
