.San Francisco, California Popout (Popout Map) by: Compass Maps March 18, 2005 We purchased one of these in San Francisco years ago and it fell out of my pocket. My husband loved this map so much he had me scour the city and the internet for another copy, so now we have two. If you are driving through the city this map simply won't work. It's too small and not detailed enough, however if you are walking/taking public transportation it is perfect. It has most of the big tourist attractions (although it doesn't list the parrots/gardens of telegraph hill) and it makes it really easy to navigate your way from Union Square to fisherman's warf hitting all the main attractions along the way. The fold out maps are detail and informative and on 2 scales so you both see the area map as well as the large city. I liked that the Metro stops were on the maps and that there was a separate Metro map on the backside. Fits easily into a shirt pocket or pants pocket.
