.Blue Guide Southwest France (Blue Guides) by: Delia Gray-Durant June 29, 2006 You can't beat a Blue Guide when it comes to accurate, useful, and detailed information, and Southwest France is no exception. 576 densely printed pages, this book thoroughly covers the Midi-Pyrenees and Aquitaine, including Dordogne, Lot, Landes, Tarn, Gers, Gironde, and the Pyrenees. Elegant towns, superb museums (many little known), chateaux, churches, valleys, vineyards, city maps - this is a total cultural and historical guide to the region, which encompasses a vast amount of territory. And it fits in your pocket, always a plus. If you just want an overview of the most popular sites, this would not be your best choice. So different from Paris in all ways that we could not consider the tiny chapter about Versailles in most Paris guides was enough. Guide Bleu are well known for their sound expertise, their rigourous, systematic approach of monuments. So don't be surprised if you feel like partipating in some kind of surgerical discovery of the most visited palace in the world. Rooms 1, 2, 3, .... You will find a description of each single visitable room in castle of Versailles. Gardens are also well described.
