I was almost crazy when by chance or destiny I found this book on Amazon. I knew in my heart I could not let my baby cry-it-out. Yet, I was finding no alternatives and was really frustrated not being able to sleep at all. This book showed me the way to greatly improve my child's sleep while making her feel safe and loved. I am very thankful to Elizabeth Pantley for taking the time to share this so important knowledge. If you don't beleive in letting your baby cry - this book is essential for you.

For the past few months, we have had a horrible time getting our daughter to bed and down for a nap. She's 3 1/2 and we've had a great routine since she was an infant so we couldn't understand why it wasn't working anymore. Turns out, we had a great routine, but we weren't implementing it properly. After reading the book, we made just a few small changes and our home is a much happier place at bedtime. I definitely recommend getting or making a bedtime routine chart. We bought the Chore Chart from Board Dudes (available on Amazon) where you can write in the steps in the routine then give the child magnetic stars for each bedtime routine (chore) they complete. Between the book and the chart, it's like a whole new world in our home. Thank goodness!

Elizabeth Pantley's No Cry Disipline Solution book, is so inspiring and helpful to me. I am a stay at home mom of 2, my kids are 4 and 1. I am also a day care provider. The kids I watch range from 8mths-5yrs. With all of these children here daily I find this book so helpful! Because as you know, being a mother is a full time job, we are cooks, maids, coaches and also psychologist amongst other things. This book helps me with encouraging ways to disciplining the children. I especially enjoy the section on Planning ahead and looking ahead. Elizabeth shows us ways in order to prepare our children to be successful and well behaved teenagers. Pantley is one of those amazing parenting book writers whose primary focus is one of compassion. In The No-Cry Potty Training Solution, she talk about listening to your children's body language and reading the cues. As a new parent, I found her book extremely helpful when it came to potty training my child. The book is full of tips and tricks that can help parents in the early days of potty training. With the aid of Pantley's book, I was able to separate my child's unique situation from the standard textbook's and really listen in to what her body was telling me. This book is wonderful. I have started recommending it to all of my friends. If you can read only one book on parenting, this is the one to read! When you read it you will learn about different parenting styles, their effectiveness or lack there of and a new way to create a happy loving and peaceful family life where you can get your children to cooperate and act as they should.

I am the mother of a 3 and 7 year old. My kids go to bed easily and on time, are polite and well behaved when outside of the house, but at home is another story. I bought this book after reading the rave reviews here, but I was somewhat deceived by it.

I think that some the deception stems out of the fact that I already owned a book by E. Pantley ( Kid Cooperation, which I recommend) and I found the author repeating itself in this book.

Also, I do not like the title, which I find lousy .

Moreover, unlike Kid Cooperation, this book places issues in alphabetical order so that you can browse through them, and does not dwell much into details ( psychological insights etc) . This can be great if you already know the basics of healthy parenting, but in the hands of the average parent, many of the hints could actually do more harm than good.
