.Roadtripping USA : The Complete Coast-to-Coast Guide to America (Let's Go) by: Inc. Let's Go April 01, 2005 Having travelled all over the USA by automobile, I was disappointed at the paucity of information and the highly selective coverage in this book. I had hoped to obtain an update, and more comprehensive coverage of all 50 states. I found it too selective with major ommissions by state (e.g. Kentucky has no entries at all) and smaller to mid-size communities such as Champaign, Illinois, or the beautiful Rock River valley of NW Illinois are conspicuous by their absence. Most disturbing is this. I live in the Greater Houston, TX, area, and read the authors' motel recommendation on US-59. Not only is that motel and immediate area known for being a place of constant drug raids, but also it is a major area of known street prostitution ... .Let's Go Central America 2002 from: Let's Go Publications December 14, 2001 Let's Go may not be as comprehensive as Lonely Planet but ATLEAST the info is up to date. The Phone numbers work 99% of the time and the prices etc are accurate. I've done Mexico, Central America and Europe with Let's go and it really the best one if you have to pick. If you are willing to lug it around, the ultimate is to take both Let's Go and Lonely Planet. Though a couple of pounds adds up on your back. I am very surprised to see there isn't one yet! This book has everything: the scenic drives, national parks, camping spots, hiking trails, rock climbing areas, mountain biking trails, state parks and forests, discussion on each major town in the Southern Cali - Nevada and Four Corners area (such as place to camp, local coffee shops, the bars with the jam bands)....all this with a special emphasis on the "budget traveler"....and all presented in an organized fashion. The maps in the book are invaluable. each major downtown city area is mapped well, as are all the national parks. The sections also recommened ...
