I found this book at a baby store in town and decided to try and buy it cheaper on the internet, which I did. As I read through it in the store I realized that it had a lot of great info pertaining to babies, not just newborns either, it goes up to two years of age and thoroughly detailed everything from health problems that could arise to parenting issues one might struggle with (ie. sleeping arraingments). The only thing that you might not like is his personal opinion on parenting. While he is an excellent doctor you might not agree with everything he has to say.

My husband was a little leery of sitting through reading the "typical" baby books together. But, he really liked the approach these authors took - they pride themselves on trying to be funny, but the information is very valuable. We like the "hands-on" approach they recommend with newborns, and my husband has even marked pages for future reference, especially regarding the hospital stay and the importance of personal contact. He's already recommended this to friends, so I guess it goes without saying that "Yes, we'd recommend this to others." We're posting this review as we put their next book in our shopping cart.

I have a 22 month old that still does not sleep through the night, but we get a restful night sleep... and this book helped us a lot, it gave us tips, on how to improve our sleep time. And I know that I wont ever will sleep same as I did before I was a mom, and I never expected to do it. I was only able to EBF her for a year, but we co-sleep, and find this sleep arrangement to be the best of all. My husband can't be with her during the day, but they bond at night, during their sleep. They do grow up fast, so I'm all for enjoying every single minute I have with her... I know that eventually she is going to ask to sleep on her own bed, but we are not looking forward to that day.

It's always a pleasant experience and privilege to be able to hitchhike on someone else's experience. For example: I have all of Robert Collier's books. However, this resource contains the original 1926 version of The Secret of The Ages and is so rich in revelation that you simply lay the book down after reading from it and ponder, chew and muse upon what you've just read.

I could go on and on. Simply do yourself a tremendous favor and acquire this timeless resource.

May God bless the person who took the time and initiative to compile this volume of spiritual wealth.

This is one of the best books I read while looking to learn more about my premature son and his experience in NICU. During such a stressful time, I believe this book was a manageable resource to quickly educate myself on what to expect. I was on bedrest prior to delivery and began reading it then. I finished reading it during my son's NICU stay, but still go back to review topics/issues related to raising a premature baby (particularly the breastfeeding information). I HIGHLY recommend this book for parents and loved ones of premature babies.

This book does a great job of intertwining historical occurrences with curriculum theory and current educational trends. Good reading. Also the guest lecturers add a nice touch.

I own a number of books on container gardening, and this has become one of my favorites. This book gives container planting ideas for each of the four seasons. The pictures are coffee-table-quality, but what I really like about this book is that it gives clear instructions for the planting and care of container gardens, making it a great book for beginners. More experienced gardeners will also find some inspirational ideas. Ther are clever ideas for using containers,as well as instructions for building some of your own. The plant combinations are not only beautiful, but are well within reach of easily putting together, unlike other books that show over-the-top arrangements.
