. Australia For Dummies (Dummies Travel)
by: Marc Llewellyn, Lee Mylne
March 24, 2008
I have been using Frommers for many years. So naturally I chose this book to prepare for our first trip to Australia. It is the only guide book that you will need, though you might want to pick up a free AAA guide after you arrive if you need hotel info as Frommers can't cover every property.
This book will provide basic info on all the major sites. In addition, you will find a great deal of info on smaller towns that you may visit if you decide to do any driving. It was invaluable for providing info on the fly.
If you buy one guidebook, this one should be it.

. Frommer's Australia 2007 (Frommer's Complete)
by: Marc Llewellyn, Lee Mylne
December 06, 2006
I purchased book a week before my trip and read on flight to Sydney. Soon determined there were a number of inaccuracies in the attraction pricing and other minor specifics (e.g., per Frommer there were 30 Explorer bus stops in Blue Mountain...there were actually 27, which Lonely Planet had right). The organization layout could be more simplistic (i.e., one attraction was discussed in various areas of the same section - used labeled flags to facilitate use). The book is bulky to carry around in backpack - editions should be available for specific regions (e.g., Sydney and surrounding). Worship service times and places could be added. Sydney is home to one of the most popular, largest non-denominational churches (Hillsong) and there was ... Read More:

. The Burnt Book
by: Marc-Alain Ouaknin
May 11, 1998
Ouaknin masterfully explains most of the basics. I recommend this book to everyone who wishes to grasp the genius of 2500 years of Rabbinic discussions. The author helps the reader, at every level, to navigate the Yam (Sea) of Talmud without being totaly overwhelmed. Difficult reading, requires some background, but a pleasure to study.

. Frommer's Australia from $50 a Day
by: Marc Llewellyn, Lee Mylne
January 23, 2004
I actually bought 4 different guide books to plan my trip Down Under. I ditched 3 of them almost immediately because Frommer's format was easier to read and locating appropriate information quicker. The advice on suggested tours was especially accurate; the boxed information warrants a second (or third) look - Frommer's never steered us in the wrong direction. Take the price information with a grain of salt as seasoned travelers know that pricing can and will fluctuate. Don't buy any other guides - relax and enjoy your trip. Aussies are the most laid-back, patient crowd on the planet. It's an amazing country!
